Epic 'Killers of the Flower Moon' flops at the box office
I don’t think Apple really cares it didn’t perform in theatrical release. It was intended to become an Oscar contender that would garner accolades - then push view-ship to Apple+. There’s nothing bad about this, it keeps theatres alive and relevant, and boosts streaming numbers. I do believe that the excessive duration of 3:30 put audiences off (though Oppenheimer was 3:20 and I had no issues sitting through that). From the reviews it sounds like too much power was given to Scorsese - a common mistake production companies allow the big names, then getting burned. Restraint usually makes for better performances. -
New 14-inch & 16-inch MacBook Pro sport M3, and come in black
Wow. Maxed out (pun intended) 16” comes in at $7200. 😳 But, a well configured 14” (16 core, 64GB, 4TB) at $4900. That is a solid desktop replacement machine with incredible portability.
as for iMac, no Pro love. That should have been an extra +moment for the event. Shame, missed opportunity. But then, they really want to push the MacStudio & Studio Display combo for pro desktop.
It really feels like foolish to buy a Mac Studio M2 Max/Ultra right now. An M2 Max system comes to $3800…and slower than the M3 14” MBP spec’ed above. -

Apple's new iCloud+ tiers are too much for consumers, too little for professionals
Conspiracy theorists here: Live Photo is a scam to use up iCloud storage. I, and many friends and family, see no use of this option - and we detest it can’t be forced off…only temporarily disabled. But it always somehow turns itself back on. Texts take longer to send because of it, and it chews up data. I hate it. Please Apple, just give us a OFF.
