  • Apple working on re-engineered and smaller Mac Pro

A Mac semi-Pro for normal people with Intel Core CPUs, non-ECC RAM and a decent GPU will be hit imo. All the advantages of Mac and have expansion options for the future.

    Gimme. Quickly.

  • House Judiciary says Apple enjoys monopoly power with App Store

Excellent news! Any other industry and the execs would have already been in jail. Imagine a car company telling you that you have to buy all accessories from their store, and ones bought from anywhere else will just not work. And the makers have to get their products approved before they can be sold, by a somewhat arbitrary set of rules, and they have to pay 30% to the car manufacturer commission.

  • Senator opposes breaking up big tech, says Chinese firms will fill the void

Yes!! Force Apple, Google, Amazon to play nice, and have their own services/features on each other's devices. This will ensure that customers are not tied into an ecosystem and can use devices made by any manufacturer in any eco-system

  • OpenCore Computer attempts sale of Hackintosh systems

Apple should really tap into this market by releasing a bare - Mac Pro, which can use consumer hardware. It should have a small 128GB SSD that has the OSX recovery on it, and that can be used to do a bare minimum OSX install. People just buy that and put in their own CPU/RAM/GPU/HDD etc. Provide a QVL and we should be good to go.

Another option could be PCI-E compute cartridges, which come with a CPU, small SSD & RAM in one package

It will provide people with the best of both worlds without compromise and without having to sell a kidney
