  • WWDC unlikely to see debuts of any new hardware at all

It may well be chip yields and supply chain the need/desire to maximize the use of each part that drives release schedule. And also, for the MBP, Studio, and Mac Pro, it may be that they want to wait for other parts/technology to be available like the next generation of Thunderbolt or RAM etc. And they may not want to release desktops with the base M4 (or M whatever) chip without also being able to release the Pro and Ultra etc chips at the same time. And those might simply take some extra time. I don't know but maybe the factory needs experience producing the base chip for a few months before it can crank out the more complex one? things like that?  Even though it seems like the fastest chips should debut in the most professional and expensive models, maybe that's not the one it's going to be for the foreseeable future.

The typical 'too bad. my credit card is waiting. Apple is taking too long' crowd has entered the chat.

Meanwhile their current computer does everything they need everyday.

It remains to be seen if all the incoming AI tools will run as well on M2 as they will on M4. But it also remains to be seen how much those will ever be needed on desktops, given that most if not all people using those desktops will also have portable Apple devices with M4 (or will soon enough) that will run those AI apps. How many AIs do we need to communicate with at a time lol?  Take that out of the equation and it's more of just a strange look that the iPad Pro (and soon the iPhone) has the newest chip while many others are 2 generations behind, but as you say the M2 machines, especially with those with Pro or better chips, are still really good in practice.

  • Apple Watch Ultra is not the only micro LED project Apple has cancelled

It seems more reasonable to conclude that the quality is not currently good enough, yields are not good enough, or it's still too expensive to produce. It's not that it wouldn't add value IMO, it's that it might not add sufficient value relative to the added cost. Ultra is somewhat of a premium product, at least relative to the regular Apple Watch, but it's still priced far below a lot of luxury watches so they might well feel there's only so much they want to increase the price this year or next. This could still be added down the road. I don't think any analyst can really tell us with any certainty that Apple has given up on a technology altogether forever....

  • Apple won't license Masimo's patents despite Apple Watch import ban

It has not been disabled on watches purchases prior to the ban.

  • Apple's stripping out blood oxygen sensing from Apple Watch enough to skirt import ban

Would the feature be disabled for everyone who's already bought one of the watches or only for watches sold after the disable date?
