  • Former Apple employee accused of leaking trade secrets under criminal investigation

Tech leaking is truly holding innovation back. Very few companies are willing to take the costs and risks of doing real R&D if they lose that initial period of unique market offer.

The earlier tech and products are leaked, the sooner the price-dumped copycat clones will get out there. And sometimes the original products won’t even have time to make a break-even for the innovating company. How will that inspire industry to keep innovating?

  • TSMC plans new chip factory with Sony in western Japan

The previous US presidency started this drive to invite industry back to the country. But why was this started so late? I mean, the shit was already deep into the fan, and building a functional manufacturing industry takes a very long time. Naivism; underestimating China? Fear of confronting China?

  • Apple appeals ruling in Epic Games lawsuit, requests stay on App Store changes

I just don't buy the idea that companies/developers are unable to effectively communicate with customers or potential customers outside of the app itself.
I don’t think Apple would mind that communication either, as long as it’s not used to circumvent the App Store fees or lure customers into unfair/insecure deals.

But we all know what would be the first thing these developer companies would do if such communication was possible. And we all know it would damage not only that specific app but the whole iOS ecosystem.

  • Apple TV+ greenlights 'Foundation' season two

Btw, sci-fi to me is more of a setting than a specific genre of stories. It’s set in an environment characterized by fictitious science. But the plot/storyline can be basically anything interacting with that world.

So, it doesn’t make sense to me to claim Foundation is not sci-fi, because the storyline is too slow, there are too few naked women, or laser guns going pew-pew in space.

I like what I see so far as well. Only critique I have is the classical style music overwhelming the sound effects. When the tower/elevator thing was blown up as an example. I would have liked the destruction sound effects to take precedence in situations like that.
Explosions don’t sound much in space. They just produce classical music.
