Apple Vision Pro one month review: a new reality is setting in
First of all, I have not experienced one as I’m far away from the US. I will next month see and experience one. From what I gather, this review and the ones prior, it came out too early. From a content and hardware perspective. I love movies, like seriously love movies. My interest is if it beats my well equipped home entertainment system, yes using a JVC D-Ila projector, etc. From a sound and vision angle. I hope it does, I’m afraid it won’t. -
New Apple Silicon has arrived with M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips
After the SSD was introduced most folks, I reckon 90% of all computer users (laptop, standalone) were happy with what they had. It was quick enough for their daily jobs. It was Apple that changed and keeps changing the game by upgrading its OS and this is the only reason why the 90% of consumers need to buy a new computer. I bought for years and years every year the latest MBP. The last one was in 2018 with a 2 TB internal SSD. It was great and did everything I needed and more. Now it’s super slow as I kept updating the OS. I shouldn’t have. The problem I have with Apple (it’s the only environment I know) is compatibility with iOS and the aura of ‘newer is better’. I reckon that in today’s phone and computer days an upgrade should only be necessary every five to seven years and as such we wouldn’t fall in the trap of consumerism. End of rant. -
GM ditching CarPlay & Android Auto for Google-built infotainment system
Everyone is sh on GM which I don’t understand. Think a little further. Apple will come with a car, so you want a competitor running your car? As it stated, you can still play your music via Bluetooth so what’s the deal? Will Apple allow GM to run its phone? They don’t even allow a 2nd App store. GM and others are clever enough you can receive a call or let you listen to your music. Stop the drama. Thank you. -
EU law will force Apple to blow open its entire hardware and software stack
EU should go to what?
What happened to respectfully disagree? Calling names and swearing doesn’t get us anywhere. I’m Dutch live overseas and love the US. And Apple. And Five Guys and and…
Apple and a bunch of other big techs are the victim of their own success. Yes, I’m old school and remember the days where Steve was shouting from the barricades about Microsoft’s dominance. Today it’s the other way around and there’s nobody able to protect us. It’s either Apple or Google for our OS. If these two would have been ethical they would have opened up and prevent this situation but shareholders were not going to appreciate that so they went there own ways. On top of that in the US and to a lesser extent the EU, there’s lobbyists who basically pay and get what they want on behalf of their clients. Roosevelt warned the US but nobody listened. After Pegasus we should have learned that IOS isn’t safe so the reasoning that Apple can’t open up the Apple store are nonsense. I’m sure there are various Pegasus versions out there collecting everything we don’t want them to collect.Do we and especially the non technical folks out there, need protection from these two behemoths? We sure do and to be honest, it’s their own fault.
