  • New iPhone 16e offers Apple Intelligence at a low price point

It is embarrassing that they compare the 'speed' to a six year old iPhone 11.  Mainly because it is not any faster than most recent phones, and it has less GPU cores.

It is not the same A18 chip.  The iPhone 16e has a binned chip with less GPU cores.

  • Apple's original and delayed HomePod finally shipped seven years ago

Steve Jobs said it best about the iPod Hi-Fi when he canceled it after 1 year, "The other guys do it better, and they do it for less".  That still holds true today.  The HomePod was doomed from the start, and now Apple makes no mention of it at all.  It is still overpriced, no features, too boomy, no tone control, no Bluetooth, no input, Siri is dumb, and it was Apple's way, or no way.

More people are now getting back into vinyl records, and they can't listen to those on a HomePod.  Most comments have the same story...their HomePod failed completely out of warranty.  I have a 20 year old pair of Polk Audio speakers that sound amazing, hooked up to a vintage Pioneer stereo receiver and a 7-band graphic equalizer too.  Now that is how you listen to music.  Not through Apple's boomy HomePod, that could not do stereo sound for 6 months after it was released.

  • Apple rolls out security update for iOS 18.3.1, iPadOS 18.3.1, macOS Sequoia 15.3.1

Updated my iPad and found that, in an incredibly bad move for security, on restart it tries to activate Apple Intelligence EVEN IF YOU HAVE IT DISABLED. I don’t knoiw of a better way to dissuade a chunk of your users from applying a critical security patch than this.
This is not news.  The .3 updates changes the 'opt-in' to now 'on' by default.  So go into settings and turn it off.  Apple loves to default things on without your knowledge, such as iCloud Drive, iCloud Photos, etc. when you install macOS, and you have to turn those features back off if you don't want them.

  • How to fix weak Wi-Fi on a M4 Mac mini when connected to a drive or dock

Oh! Oh!, I got it!! Plug in the Ethernet.  LOL, sorry, had to be done.
You said it first.  Solution is Ethernet.  It is a desktop Mac.  It is not mobile, it is not going anywhere.  Ethernet is the clear choice over WiFi, every time.  Unless it is a mobile device, use Ethernet.  You get the fastest performance from your ISP, and it is far more secure than WiFi.  They made it too small and can't shield it properly.  Does this issue also affect Bluetooth performance too?
