  • Microsoft China bans Android, demands staff use iPhones

Yup a Wall Gardened type of security does have its advantages.

The Walled Garden is not about security, but convenience. In computer science, it's well-known that the more convenience you have, the less security you intrinsically have. There's a direct correlation between the two. This is why Apple's business model has been so noticeable, because it flies in the face of that correlation. Apple users enjoy both increased security and increased convenience.

The security itself is rooted in the foundational architecture of the hardware and software.

Yeah, I can't say that the walled garden is about convience and not security.  If they didn't have a walled garden, they would still have the convience of the app store, you can have an app store without the walled garden.  The walled garden is about security, it is just done at the time of the app being submitted to the store versus having the user do the security check.  The inconvience is at the developer end vs the user end with the walled garden approach, so it gives the illusion that there is no convience penalty to the end user.

  • Apple green lights Epic Games Store in rapid reversal

Apple needs to put a safety disclaimer, with regards to downloading from outside of the App Store. Now it’s at the owners risk, as these have not been certified with an Apple Gold Check mark, which means they’ve been tested at Apple.
Apple needs to NOT imply that apps from outside the Apple app store are somehow any less safe than apps from inside it, because if they lie like that they're going to find themselves with even higher fines.

    And that's a good thing.

Apple has been treating you so badly for so long that you've developed something akin to Stockholm Syndrome.
But it is not a lie, it is a simple statement stating that "apps downloaded outside of the app store have not been verified and tested by Apple, and as a result there could be an increase security risk."

The whole point of Apple app store, the Windows store, and Google Playstore is that these apps have been verified and approved already for security.

  • Maryland Apple Store staff vote in favor of strike action

They are paid accordingly. They also get benefits as well. This is not professional position...it's retail. And trust me, if someone leaves tomorrow there WILL be someone waiting to come in. Again, this isn't corporate Apple, this is retail where they won't have an issue replacing someone.
Why does it have to be a professional position?  If someone leaves Apple corporate, guess what, there will be someone waiting to come in for that corporate position.

Apple won't have an issue replacing someone at corporate either.

  • Apple Vision Pro is revolutionizing surgical procedures worldwide

Medical teams literally across the globe are all saying the same thing: Apple Vision Pro is a medical game changer.
Which teams?  Can you give names?  How about links?

The last paragraph says very clearly it’s being used more: “ Despite being used for surgeries previously in the UK, and now Brazil,”. Surgeries plural in the UK.
So, in other words, one person in the UK has used it for multiple surgeries. ........

  • Apple hardware chief John Ternus insists parts pairing is not evil

"Why is it a bad thing," Ternus?  Because you aren't considering the long term implications of what happens when a device gets so old Apple stops making parts for it.  And while one can argue that for an iPhone, it matters less than a Mac, the fact remains that your are effectively killing off old devices that cannot get official parts anymore after a certain number of years.
That “certain number of years” you refer to is SEVEN. Seven years after a given model is discontinued, Apple no longer makes parts for it.

That’s typically a repairable lifespan of a decade. Longer, for common third-party parts like screens.

Apple is not “killing off devices.” If you are using a decade-old iPhone, you have waaaaaay bigger issues than being able to get parts.

Can't say that I agree that you have issues if you are using a decade old iPhone, I'm still on my iPhone SE that I purchased in August in 2017, it is on its third battery and it still receives iOS security patches.  Taking photos or shooting video isn't a hobby of mine and I don't game on it.
