  • If your iPhone alarms aren't going off, you're not alone

I have experienced this many times over the years and it’s been extremely frustrating.

I have found recently what the issue is. Randomly, during the night while my iPhone is charging, it will reconnect over Bluetooth to my AirPods which are sitting in a drawer.
Yes the AirPods are in the case.
I may not have used the AirPods for days.
But when I’ve had the “no alarm” situation, every time now it’s because the sound output is going to my not-being-used AirPods.

    Definitely worth checking.

A friend of mine complained about the same no sound issue and I told him all this. And yes, he had the same issue.

Not sure if it’s relevant, but it is the AirPods Pro that I have.

  • When will Apple upgrade all of its Macs to M4?

It’s funny how Apple (TSMC) has been making M4 chips for months now, and only the iPad has been released that is using it…. Why?

My guess is that Apple is using the M4 chips that it’s making and putting them into the specialised hardware that is to run  Apple Intelligence in their Datacentres.

It’s the only plausible explanation for such a gap.
This being the (likely) case, it must be a Golden chip!!

  • Stop us if you've heard this before: There's a new Apple Silicon killer in town

On a consistency note…..at least twice in the story the 7840u is referred to as the 7860u…..
No need to rush the proofread on such non-event story surely?

  • Update to iOS 16.0.1 on your new iPhone 14 before you do anything else

Are others having issues with the new TvOS? Since I updated my tv HD, AirPlay glitches sometimes when I start using it for music to my stereo (intermittent audio), the screen goes black for a few seconds and freezes when I use the “Menu” button in various (maybe all) streaming apps, and the beginning of YouTube videos and ads shows a black screen with intermittent audio for the first few seconds, with the audio returning before the video. I did a quick Google search but haven’t seen anything. I’m wondering if it’s losing the HDMI connection for a split second, which might result in this kind of problem, but the device connected to it has a display which would normally tell me if it’s disconnected, but isn’t showing that.
Yes. I have a similar issue when playing video using the YouTube app. I get audio and totally black video. The first few times I had to check to see if the TV switched off. The video never recovers. I have to stop playing the video, sometimes I need to exit the app, and relaunch the video and it will work. I have also seen the same behaviour from the Plex app too. My
Apple TV is the 4K version. They can be fussy little boxes sometimes, and need a reboot on a somewhat regular basis…… but I do love them and have had every model since version 1 which I still have.

  • Most US Cabinet Departments have bought Cellebrite iPhone hacking tool

You do know Apple themselves use the devices, not to hack, but to “device to device” copy.
Obviously the software may not be exactly the same. There’s an irony in there somewhere!
I’m curious what evidence you have of this because I find it very difficult to believe that Apple would need a third-party vendor’s tool to copy their own product.
Erm…. I worked there. I used the tool multiple times. Generally it was used to transfer Android phones to iPhone. (This was in 2017). So this isn’t hearsay or guesses, this is fact.
