  • Apple focusing on lower resolution screens to make a more affordable Apple Vision Pro

Sideline this product altogether. Create a division dedicated to high-end medical, technical, corporate devices, call it 'What rich folks can afford and need'. Instead focus on a better keyboard for the iPhone. Increased security. The most featured item on the iPhone is camera, camera, camera, camera, camera. Like we are some Ansel Adams. The majority of us take inane pictures that we bore our friends and relatives to death with: 'here look this is me and my main squeeze in a zoo in Alhambra', look here is a video of us climbing Mt KopaBoopa, here are the two of us in a ZommpaBoompa Concert. By this time your friends and relos are sound asleep or have excused themselves to go home.

The main issue that I have with the camera is when you try to take a pic of some thing reflective and your silly self shows up reflected in the picture. How, bloody, annoying. Fix that. And the bloody keyboard so when type a message in a hurry, like 'I just picked up a bag of groceries and some grog', comes out as 'reeked gross and crock'.

    Thank you Apple.

  • Protests at Apple Stores in multiple cities mar iPhone 16 launch

    Bunch of murder-supporting losers.

What hamas did was murder outright. On purpose. Israel then went to war to root out this evil. As with any war, there is unfortunate collateral damage. But that’s not the intent.

If some evil terrorist kidnapped, tortured and raped my family, holding them hostage, you bet I’d be cheering on any powers going after the bad guys to rescue them.

YOU DONT WANT ISRAEL COMING AFTER YOU? Don’t murder, torture, and abuse their women, children and pets - civilians.

    Pretty simple math.

These folks want to protest apple having business in Israel. Where were they when apple had more interests in China.

Good point. Plus what is it with all the college campus protests against Israel. 90% of these people don't even know where Gaza is? Plus why isn't anyone protesting Russia's blatant invasion of Ukraine. Over a million killed on both sides; God only knows how many maimed and injured. All to satisfy Putin's ego.

  • Europe demands Apple open up iOS for better accessory compatibility

Verstager is total moron. There is ZERO chance of Apple ever releasing its propriety OS for either the iPhone or iPad to 3rd party vendors. If this idiot had even a smidgen of a brain between her ears she would understand that Apple's vaunted security is totally reliant on having complete control of its OS.
This stupid person believes that because Apple gave in on App Store access to Spotify and other vendors that now they are going to surrender OS access to 3rd party vendors.
    How stupid is this person?
There is a better chance of Apple offering the Vision Pro for Free with the purchase of a pair of Airpods.
She is comparing a 3rd party of piece of junk like Android that is as secure as a public toilet to Apple's iOS. Of course Android is free for all to use and embed in their phones ranging from a piece of garbage of phone that you can purchase at a 7/11 to a high end phone like Pixel.
But that is not the same as Apple. Apple has been perfecting its OS, whether it is on the iPhone, iPad or Mac for the last twenty years.
There is not the single chance of Apple surrendering there proprietary OS to enable 3rd party access.
I am guessing that if push came to shove Apple will simply stop selling their phone and iPads in the Europe. Then see who misses out.
This Verstager has no common sense. Does not understand how OS works and is on the verge of retiring.
Well, from my part, Good Bye Verstager and Good Riddance.

  • Apple's future iPhone Flip - all the rumors about a possible foldable iPhone

    geekmee said:
Remind me again, what problem does this solve??
It solves a problem that I would describe best as 'vision block'. Apple, since the passing of Jobs and the departure of Jony Ives has no idea what to do next other than milking the iPhone to death. This is another attempt to breath life into a dying product by folding it. Ask Samsung how well their folding phone is doing and you will get a Korean swear word thrown back at you. Every retailer that I have visited in the last year has the Galaxy Fold front and centre as you walk in with salespeople pleading with the customer to take it off their hands.
Why would Apple step into that pit? Who knows? Perhaps the same reason that they invested billions in the infamous Apple Car, followed by the just as famous Vision Pro.
Watch this space for the next doozie.

  • Foldable MacBook Pro delayed to at least 2027

Wait, I’ve been folding my MacBook Pros for as long as I can remember. Maybe I should get a patent for my idea. /s
Too right. I am typing this missive on my MBA M3. Soon as I am done, I will be folding it on the hinge and park it away for the night.

Perhaps the next lateral - not revolutionary but evolutionary - idea from Apple will be a rollable MacBook. You roll it up and tuck it under your arm like a newspaper.

It's strange how Apple is becoming a lot like Google a great deal of $ and a boatful of engineers totally clueless on the next big thing since Jobs passed and Ivy left. One bone-headed pointless idea after another:
    1) Apple Car
    2) Apple Vision Pro
    3) Foldable Phone
    4) Foldable Mac
    5) Clothes that interact with the wearer - as long as the wearer is not beset by flatulence - then we have a meltdown.

Actually the best new invention that I have seen is Humane AI Pin. Unfortunately the execution fell a bit short - so short that it's DOA. This is where Apple can step in, buy the company and fold it into Apple Ecosystem and make it a success.

Genius is not learnt but born. And a guy like Jobs happened like a meteor, flew over the Apple heavens and burnt too soon. And now we have a boatful of engineers and a ton of $ and no idea. Google has 253 dead ideas in its graveyard and Apple is not too far behind.
