  • Goldman Sachs dodges questions about its relationship with Apple

I wouldn't worry too much about Goldman Sachs.
A mere four years ago they cost taxpayers billions of dollars with their dodgy investments in toxic assets and then dodged their responsibility by refusing to take ownership of the problem.
I would suggest that a great many taxpayers wanted out the sub prime mortgage crap and couldn't just exit the arrangement while Goldman Sachs sailed off into the sunset.  :s

  • Microsoft dumps Cortana leaving Siri as one of the last smart assistants

Siri was always incredibly bad but suddenly feels infantile, now that I’m working witch ChatGPT a lot.

Apple has a problem. They say they’ve been investing a lot in AI, but I don’t believe for a word they’ve worked on the tech like OpenAI is delivering today; that’s just damage control by Tim Cook to keep shareholders at ease.
'witch' I thought we were talking about AI not Voodoo  :#

  • Microsoft dumps Cortana leaving Siri as one of the last smart assistants

And the list goes on (sung to the tune of The Beat Goes On):

    1. MS Mobile
    2. Windows (last legs)
    3. Cortana
    4. Bing Schming (as heavily used as MySpace)
    5. Surface (dying days)

Companies like MS are product-wise linked to Google: one-hit wonder. And then they sit around looking for new paths to forge. So they look at the fruit in Cupertino and they come up with tablets; services; phones; headphones and on and on. And they fail miserably.

And just as they are coming up for air Apple outpaces them by a trillion miles with Vision Pro. I am certain that Google with its poor hardware record will never attempt anything similar (remember Googles Myopic Glasses :D ) and I am certain that MS simply does not have the skill to put together a mixed reality headset.

Where is the monopoly of DOS?

  • Android struggles against iPhone as US smartphone sales drop by a quarter

Google Pixel sales were up 48%?? That sounds excessive, but there's nothing I can find disputing it. Still questionable IMO, which makes the overall figures at least a little suspect.
I don’t find that suspect. Remember, when sales are very small, it’s easy to have a large increase. It’s also easy to drop significantly. Google has just a few million sales a year.
Exactly right. If your sales base is a couple of million phones in any given year than doubling that qualifies an increase of 48%.

  • What to expect from Apple's third quarter 2023 earnings report

It never fails. Every quarter right before Apple is due to announce it quarterly earnings AppleInsider posts the now well-known photo of Tim with Luca standing right behind him, both grinning from ear-to-ear.  B)

I guess if the Apple wasn't doing well we would have a different pic.

I would be grinning too if I was at the helm of a $3 trillion company.  :)
