"I find it insane that [Apple and Google] essentially control how over 4bn consumers access the internet around the world," he said.I find it insane that the CEO of a public company is this dumb. How are Apple and Google “controlling” access to the internet? They have their own app stores, and they control those — as they should, being the proprietors of those stores.
Why doesn’t the CEO focus on making some kind of profit for his company and spend less time pissing and moaning about the success of other companies? Without them, he wouldn’t even have a business. Apple created the app economy leading to the scale we see today — you exist because of them.

Wouldn’t generative AI render a traditional search engine less useful? If search is built into the OS, why use a browser or engine? This has bigger implications for Google since I don’t see how they can grow ad revenue with this.

Apple has incorporated machine learning into their products for years, but they never marketed it like some companies have with their AI endeavors. I understand why, but maybe this will change. Maybe they will turn Siri into an assistant you could simply text with instead speak to. Always there to chat with, whenever you want. I see search being greatly disrupted.

Amazon Prime Video won't be ad-free in 2024 without an additional charge
I think they should have Prime memberships without the video —I only use Prime for shipping upgrade and Whole Foods discounts. Just make video a separate add-on option.
