These partnerships are important, and I’m glad Apple is not married to one or the other — even though they’re still primarily in China, they’ve diversified production within the country to a good extent.

Reminds me of the constant pushing of flash by Adobe — garbage technology that was good for Adobe but not consumers.  Same story here.  Google is not looking out for anyone but themselves by promoting this trash.

Three years behind according to whom?  The WSJ, based on the comments of a former executive at Qualcomm?  What would you expect him to say?  Nobody outside Apple knows about their progress, how close they are, or what technology they’re working on.  Maybe they’ve been working on something beyond 5G.  We won’t know until they release it.  

Bad headline.  If you read the reviews, the assumption is the customer has last year’s model and is considering upgrading this year.  In this scenario, according to some reviews, there aren’t enough compelling reasons to upgrade.  But what if someone has one of the seven models that came before the Series 8 — would the Series 9/Ultra 2 be compelling for them?
