  • As you may expect, the internet already says that Apple's headset is doomed, apparently

If someone isn’t interested in the concept of VR or AR, that is fine.  But anyone who gives their opinion on a product based on the design, features, or price of a product before those details are even known is an absolute moron.

The internet has allowed morons to share their moronic thoughts with others.  The ones that listen turn into morons themselves.  This is the real pandemic — welcome to the internet:  home of the moron flu.

  • Apple's headset drastically changed over time & top execs are skeptical

I don’t believe any of these “reports” — they all use the words “purportedly”, “apparently”, “allegedly” — all made up with things that can never be verified.  Think about the price — an article years ago puts out a price of $3000 for the product, and now you have idiots posting as if this were actually the price when it hasn’t even been announced yet.  I can guarantee you that most employees of Apple don’t even know what the price will be.  And now this article is saying that Craig Federighi is distancing himself from the product — he is the SVP of software engineering — does anyone actually believe this trash?  This is either misdirection or idiocy on a massive scale.

  • After years of silence, Apple finally reveals how many App Store users it has in Europe

What is the purpose of forcing a company to publish user numbers for a service?  Does this protect users or otherwise help them in some way?  This is all about control and nothing more. These new regulations will result in less innovation and more convoluted software interfaces.

  • Apple's diversity efforts are 'selfish & practical' says head of developer relations

“Prescott explained that the company's dedication to inclusivity and diversity is motivated by a "selfish and practical" perspective. She believes that to create the best products for all consumers, they must be developed by a diverse team of individuals, according to a report from The Independent.”

I don’t agree.  To create the best products for all consumers, they must be developed by a competent team with diverse skills and perspectives.  Why are they so focused on the gender and race of a developer?  How many users actually care about this?  I believe close to zero — instead, they just want something to work as intended and what they expected.  If diversity over quality has been driving decisions at Apple, this could explain the state of software quality at the company.
