  • Malicious attackers can flood iPhone users with endless popups using a $170 tool

The malware described in the article sounds like the tip of a very big iceberg. Denial of service attacks are annoying, sometimes crippling. But if people click on any of those pop-ups, even by accident, then the potential of identity and data theft start to appear. Then there's the possibility that further iterations of this intrusive malware will be able to pair with a phone without any action by the owner. That's when we start to see that spy movie trope, "just get me close enough and I'll clone it; they'll never know."

  • Apple & ARM have been crucial to each other's survival for three decades

Well dang! There's no way I'm getting in on the IPO with Apple and Nvidia competing with me. Oh well, I've owned Apple and Nvidia for years now. By the time shares hit the secondary market, speculators will have priced in the next 20 years of earnings, making it way to rich for my conservative blood.

  • Apple TV+ MLS Season Pass subscription discounted to $29

I already pay Apple for access to AppleTV+ for content. But to see sports I have to pay more? Seems like I’m paying twice. Not a fan of tiered access. Would rather pay a bit more for TV+ to have access to all it has to offer. This would seem to be a no-brainer when you’re trying to get NFL addicted Americans interested in a sport that is only marginally popular here.
I already paid Apple for my computer. Why do I have to pay extra for an iPhone, an iPad, AirPods, and Apple TV, and an Apple Watch? This would seem to be a no-brainer when you're trying to get iPhone addicted users interested in everything else Apple sells!

  • Apple will frame iPhone 15 USB-C switch as a consumer win

Being able to implement Thunderbolt through the USB-C port on iOS devices seems to be a potential win to me.

  • Apple will frame iPhone 15 USB-C switch as a consumer win

    It IS a consumer win.

And it's a win we wouldn't have gotten if the EU hadn't forced Apple to do it.
90% of consumers who are upgrading from an earlier iPhone will not feel this way. That’s suddenly a whole sh*t ton of cables and accessories and money invested into the ecosystem over the years, that are all suddenly rendered useless. Having to start over and re-buy these things will not be looked at positively. Most people aren’t video editors who need lightning fast transfer speeds, they just want their things to work.
Just what is it that those 90% of consumers would have to buy because something is rendered useless?? If all their other iOS devices are Lightning, they can just keep the cables and chargers. If they buy a new iPhone, they get a cable for nothing. As they upgrade other devices, they all come with USB-C cables. I just can't think of anything they'd have to buy. Maybe if they want to take advantage of the faster charging, they might want a 35W or better USB-C charger. Or they could just by a 10 dollar USB-C TO USB-A cable and use their old chargers, since they just want their things to work.
