  • For now, Apple Arcade may be the best place for spatial Apple Vision Pro games

    Just poor and boring games.

  • Famed investor Warren Buffett again trims stake in Apple

    AppleZulu said:
So. Rebalancing the portfolio. Not disinvesting in Apple.
Nobody knows, but we will see if he is still selling in Q1 2024.

Warren Buffett sold AAPL from time to time in the past (2021) and at the end, he regretted his decision for selling it.

But there are some initial thoughts:
    1. Warren Buffett did not sell, but one of his lieutenants did.
    2. Warren Buffett did not sell, but one of his holding companies belonging to Berkshire Hathaway, which also held AAPL, trimmed it.
    3. Warren Buffett sold for rebalancing or for whatever reasons.

But AAPL is too expensive now without any growth rates (Just 2% growth) for 2 years. It does not justify PE x30 for a company, which is compared to other Magnificant Six.

AAPL also has a high China exposure.
If you look at the portfolio of Berkshire, most comapnies have no exposure to China or very minimal. BAC, V, AMEX, AMZN, KO etc. are not really present in China or are not heavily hurt by Chinese economy or goverment,

Maybe, he sees a geographical risk like he trimmed TSMC.

OF course, AAPL is a very complicated story because there are a lot of Chinese employees working for Foxconn and indirectly fro Apple (China would be very cautious to be "Anti Apple" given the current umemployee rate on high level in China).

But I am pessimistic about AAPL´s performance in the near term.
I am not quite sure if their WDCC or Generative AI would pump their sales to the moon.

  • iPhone 16 won't be compelling and Apple will get hurt because of it, says Kuo

Oh no another Apple is doomed article.   For one I only know a few people that have a folderable phone and they are not big fans of it so far.  This market is very niche right now.   I think Kuo is jumping the gun on his iPhone negatively.
I do not know what you mean with "doomed".
Every company has negative earnings, negative years, good earnings, good years etc.. Apple is not an exception.
    S*it happens, doesn´t it?

The global economy does not look good in this year.

Apple has lost their market position in China. I don´t know how Apple will perform in China this year, but I would not be surprised if the market share decreases at Apple.
Apple has lost their momentum, because most of their (loyal) consumers already have and do not need to upgrade every year.

iPhone 16 does not seem to be interesting either. Their Generative AI story is rather "meehhh".
AVP is still an early product. We may need min. 5 years for a clear direction of this purpose.

There is no big upgrade momentum in every category. iPad will an OLED screen, but it does not justify an immediate upgrade.
Apple Watch? After a fight with Massimo? I don´t know.

I think the market is hyped with AI and there is no room for Apple.

NVDA, MSFT, AMZN, GOOGL, and META have better year ahead. Apple will underperform.

Honestly, I would not be surprised if NVDA surpasses AAPL one day on the market. (Everybody will laugh at me, but nobody knows).

AAPL will underperform in this year.
Also after their tomorrow´s earning results, their stock may go down (a lot).

  • 'Strong action' is coming if the EU doesn't like Apple's App Store concessions

When can EU realize that their law and regulations will NOT make the environment more competitive among Apple and others?

The best competition is always offering a competitive infrastructure in Europe where talented people NEVER leave Europe, but build their own enterprises and make them larger and bigger.

Europe has lost their decades to catch up with American tech enterprises and face more and more newcomers, which threat European enterprises.

You have AI. What does Europe do instead of building their own AI competitors? Regulation.

It is not sustainable to defend the European market with more regulations.

Language barrier, living in a rude and stubborn environment, too high taxes...

Europe is losing and losing talented kids to the US.

Learn from Apple, Microsoft, OpenAi, Meta, Netflix instead of punishing them.
Study how Europe can build such enterprises and make them to US competitors.
