Apple's next-generation 'CarPlay Ultra' is finally here
Automakers are not stupid. Who will support CarPlay? Apple once said that Porsche will support CarPlay, but it has never happened yet.
Now, Apple claims Kia, Hyundai and Genesis will support (or better: want to support).....
I will believe until I see it.
Mercedes has its own MBUX, BMW? I am not aware tbh as I don´t drive BMW. GM ditching CarPlay more and more for new models, I don´t see how CarPlay could remain relevant in the future.
Aston Martin is just nothing, but a cash burning machine. Their production capacity is so small that Aston Martin does not lead to a domino effect to other car makers. -
Last quarter before Trump tariffs sees Apple beat Wall Street with $95.4 billion earnings
mpantone said:melgross said:I’m still ticked at Apple’s indifference to direct shareholder benefits. Seriously, a 4% increase in dividend payments when they declare another massive $100 billion in buybacks? It should have been at least a 10% increase and they could have taken a few billion off the buybacks and nobody would have noticed. I’d also rather see them begin to pay off the $132 billion in debt instead of constantly increasing it in order to pay for buybacks. This is not good, folks.
It's pretty clear they just increase the dividend to match inflation, that's it.
Apple thinks that they can invest the money better themselves through acquisitions, stock buybacks or strategic expenditures (like prepaying TSMC *cash* for access to cutting edge nodes and wafers). And you know for 99.9% of retail AAPL shareholders Apple is probably right.
Part of the reason why they sell bonds is because of the tax implications of repatriating cash from overseas operations. They still seem to be waiting for an opportune moment. At this point, they probably think it's still cheaper to use someone else's cash instead of their own.
If you really want to stick your money somewhere else, sell off some of your AAPL and diversify. That's a good idea anyhow. Warren Buffett does it and he doesn't throw temper tantrums about paltry AAPL dividends. And your due diligence should have uncovered that AAPL doesn't pay out handsome dividends before you invested. It takes like 3-4 seconds to figure out Forward Dividend & Yield at Yahoo Finance for any company publicly traded on American stock exchanges.
If you want a stock that pays out big dividends, go invest in a company like AT&T (NYSE:T) which has zero vision and innovates poorly.
Anyhow, feel free to bring up your concerns at next year's annual shareholder meeting.
As long as Tim is the CEO, there is no vision at Apple.
I can´t see any double-digit growth rates except Services. But their products are not innovative anymore.
Yeah.. Maybe, they design their chips which are innovative, but it does not justify an explosive market growth.
Their revenue is mostly flat. Their EPS is rising only due to buybacks. Their P/E (FWD) is over 30.
Hard to argue that it is a good investment. -

Underwhelming performance of Apple Intelligence will hit iPhone sales, Kuo claims
chasm said:I doubt it. Apple Intelligence is a feature in development, not a selling point. People will continue to buy iPhones for the reasons they bought the last one they bought.
That said, regardless of your “feelings” about Apple Intelligence one way or another, I can assure that nearly EVERY person with access to the writing tools should make more use of at least that aspect of AI.
For me, the Genmoji/Image Generator will be the part I use the least, but see that’s the great thing about Apple Intelligence — you can use what proves useful to you, and ignore what isn’t useful to you. Gosh, it’s almost like they designed it to work like that.
Did you see their promotion? Apple promoted Apple Intelligence for selling iPhone 16 series!
I understand that Apple´s AI approach is challenging and different from regular LLMs as Apple focuses on local based LLM feature (That´s why Apple´s approach is harder and more challenging than any cloud-based LLMs).
But given the size in terms of their market cap., it is still embarassing and ridiculous that they are so slow and they are dummy to release something what they have promised for 16 series.
My bet is that Apple will never roll out a personalized Siri with such clunky codes.
Apple has shown strange moves recently: Normally, Apple is late, but does better. Apple launches when they are ready.
But it is surprising to see that Apple hits the market with half-baked features and new products like Vision Pro (Yes.. For me, it is a half-baked item which is forgotten as of today).
Something is rotten in the states of Cupertino.
Maybe, they need to check if their headcounts are not enough or not capable to do their jobs? (John...Do you feel addressed??)
