Apple's TV app enables live sports, news coverage in Canada
I have never found a need or use for the TV app on my TV 4K till yesterday when I discovered I was able to set it up to watch all the World Cup Football games within the app. Love it, no need to change HDMI inputs and suffer the horrendous cable TV interface to access Fox and Fox Sports for the all games, it 'just works' in the TV app.. -
How to set up your home network for many Apple TVs, Macs, iPhones, and iPads
One tip I picked up a while back is to always name 2.4 and 5 GHz networks identically with same pass word. That way modern devices from Apple seamlessly select either that is best suited and can flip between them should the need arise. the 2.4GHz signals may sound less impressive but they travel further and through more walls. Correct me if this is a dumb idea but it works very well on my LAN. -
macOS Mojave brings Dark Mode, enhanced privacy, HomeKit, and more to the Mac
David H Dennis said:Down here in Costa Rica, with the weather nice almost all the time, people frequently enjoy working outdoors. I built a nice little outdoor office, with my MacBook Pro, 4K monitor and Philips Hue lights, to savor my awesome ocean view.
But there is just one problem: Evil biting insects are attracted to the light created by all this stuff. So around the end of daylight, it becomes downright miserable to work here in paradise.
I just wanted to thank Craig and friends for introducing Dark Mode, which should be ideal to make the insectos, as they call them down here, become less virulent. I can't wait to try it and see the results! My entire body will thank them.
(I just thought it was kinda funny to announce a genuine need for a feature that might strike most of us as frivolous eye candy .... LOL.)
Safari is still throwing off enough light to read by. That said I love Dark Mode! Especially Photos, at last a dark background like Aperture.

Apple's Federighi promises APFS boot support for Mac Fusion Drives 'very soon'
I am curious as to what Apple is fine tuning, anyone here know? The Disk Utility (Version 17.0 (1606)) that came with the first developer beta of High Sierra did and still does format anything you want as APFS including FusionDrives, HDD and RAIDs. I only played around with non essential drives and data obviously but never had a single problem.
