Every. Single. Thing. That. Apple. Adopts. After. Android. We. Go. Through. This.
Samsung invented styluses? Samsung invented 5G? Samsung invented mobile payments? I suppose Samsung invented the smartphone too...
I mean, Samsung has been early to market with some things. Ok. But that is a very long way from meaning Apple is copying them. But whatever. If your angry, Apple only makes Samsung knockoffs fantasy makes you happy, go ahead and live there! -

Epson's EcoTank ET-4760 review: a multi-function powerhouse at a steep price
lkrupp said:We have an Epson WF-2860 that uses the standard ink cartridges. If I order the high capacity ink it costs around $100 for the four colors (I tried the cheap aftermarket ink cartridges and they were a disaster). So these EcoTank models look pretty tempting to me and would seem to pay for themselves in short order in the cost of ink alone.
it’s going to pay for itself so fast, I wish I had done it years ago! -
Facebook preparing to take Apple to court over iOS 14 privacy features
flydog said:mjtomlin said:thrang said:"Apple "abused its power in the smartphone market by forcing app developers to abide by App Store rules that Apple's own apps don't have to follow,"
I've heard this floated around before.... what specifically is being referred to here?
For some reason Facebook and some other developers think it is unfair for "Apple" to have unfettered access to user data and device information on Apple's devices and not grant apps the same path to access that data. The problem with that argument is that it's actually the device itself, not Apple, that has access to that data. How many times have we heard Apple say, "it all happens on device", when referring to some feature or service?
I'm pretty sure the word "Apple" is being used colloquially in this context, and even if it wasn't, your hypertechnical distinction between Apple and devices doesn't make a difference.Zuck then says: “this isn’t fair—Apple collects your location data, we should have access to it too!”Surely you see the difference between “Apple” having the information and your device having the information even if Zuck doesn’t.(This is just an example—I don’t know if your phone is collecting location data for those reasons) -
Facebook preparing to take Apple to court over iOS 14 privacy features
Sadly, regardless of legal action, this issue will resolve itself in Facebook’s favor. They will simply make a game “answer these 5 questions to find out what flavor cake you are” and before it reveals the answer, you will have to click on a little box opting in to giving unfettered access. 90% of the public will do it ...
