  • French company sues Apple over incomplete HTML5 support on iOS, macOS Safari

    This is significant.

This is not simply about HTML5, is it? It is about progressive web apps: They look and act exactly the same as a native app on your iDevice. The difference is that they don't need an App store. You simply download them from the web and use them offline. They're written in simple HTML5, CSS and vanilla JavaScript.

Progressive web apps are the future of the web on mobile. I hope Apple recognizes this, and turn the iPhone into a true Internet Communicator.

Have a look at this video here.  It is a Mozilla talk Chris Wilson did a couple of weeks ago:

  • iTunes 12.4 to reportedly include new sidebar, minor UI tweaks

I wish iTunes would just go back to the original 1.0 version. It was simple, slick and worked pretty damn good. Make the iTunes store a separate app like on iOS. The current version of iTunes is a jack of all trades, master of absolutely none!
In order for Apple to do that they need to say screw Windows. It seems like the Windows desktop app is used as a crutch. But definitely the iTunes Store and Apple Music should be separate from device syncing.
FIDDLESTICKS! It is a very lame excuse in favour of the status quo. Have a look at Slack:

iTunes needs to feel the burn!

    Incremental changes won't do!

  • Apple Music UI to go grayscale, add better support for lyrics - report

Fine grain fingertip control is what I want. This is what I LOVE about the Soundcloud app. It lets me jump right into the groove. And it works like a breeze for long DJ sets as well.

Apple could reinstate the fine grain control they used to have with the iPod by replacing its clumsy slider with a virtual scroll wheel. It'd be a great use of 3D touch.

  • Apple reportedly increases iPhone SE chip orders amid greater-than-expected demand

I was able to snag one at my Apple Store last night. It is not a low end iPhone. As a matter of fact, it makes the iPhone 6 look low end.

This is a classic design Apple shouldn't abandon and the sales numbers prove it.
An all glass back panel, like the iPhone 4S, would top it.

There's also something to be said about the unapologetic nature of the iPhone 5C. I actually preferred its smooth edges and bright colours to the 5S. Have this with 6S internals, and it is a whole different game, like the SE is showing us right now.
