  • M1X MacBook Pro still expected to launch in October

Apple really needs to start building chip fabs all around the world. The situation brewing between Taiwan and China poses an existential threat to Apple and the entire tech industry. It would cost Apple a hundred billion dollars or more but the investment would pay off for decades to come.
TMSC is a reliable partner and I believe they are already building factories in the US.  Apple could certainly pay them to own capacity at that site and others around the world.
Remember Apple already own the chip design.  All they need now is a spread of partners across the world to make their chips.

  • M1X MacBook Pro still expected to launch in October

Been waiting for a year for a new 16 inch MBP.  My wife's current model is 6 years old and has wonky speakers so you can't hear anything that is been played.  I've been telling her to wait because the new M1 MBPs are just around the corner.  Of course I'll be wanting one as well but my current version (4 years old) is still going strong.
I also had a dream that my current AirPods (V2) broke apart when taking them out of my ear.  That must be a sign that the new version is going to be released too.

  • EU to propose common charger for all smartphones, ignores Apple's protest

This is dumb.  Most phones charge by USB.  I can use any USB charger to charge my iPhone.  USB-C charger are the best because they can work for both PCs and mobile devices.
If they are talking about the adapter cable then I favor USB-C.  Like the lightning cable it is reversible.  Maybe a bit less robust than lightning but still pretty tough.  The other good thing about a USB-C cable is that it can be used in all compatible devices including PC for charging and also for data transfer.  Therefore it has multiple uses and reduces the number of cables you would need for your devices.  I would be happy if iPhones used USB-C instead of lightning, although I mostly charge wirelessly now.

  • Parallels Desktop 17 brings Windows 11 to Mac with enhanced M1 support

When I needed to run windows on my Mac having parallels was very useful.  I did however get sick of Parallels trying to me get to upgrade every year for no real feature upgrade except capability with the next version of MacOS.  Eventually I realized that the upgrade was often not needed as the previous version of Parallels would perform well with the new OS.

  • Mini LED 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro production begins

I would laugh if they don’t outclass tiger lake laptops, particularly XPS15 with GTX3050s, but really they should aim at shutting down Razer and Asus with GTX3070s.

might be hard to do M2 if the next iPhone chip isn’t released yet.  It is interesting that we haven’t heard any rumours about that SOC yet.
Maybe it won't when comparing in raw specs with a dedicated GPU. But really who cares.  It's just a pissing contest that has no bearing to the typical user. The point is that the M1 processor is already way more advanced than a X86 chip with efficiencies across the board.  Having the next generation of Mac that will take advantages will provide years of usage at performance way above the current Intel Macs and with the knowledge that Apple will continue to refine the OS to improve performance over time.

Apple silicon is already exceeding most of the competition with only their first generation SOC.  They are going to be leaving the others way behind with subsequent generations.  Intel must be panicking.
