Apple Inc. valuation now more than $134 billion greater than Alphabet's Google
rezwits said:People goto search engines, YES like google, which is why they are worth some mulah, but the main thing is, nowadays WE GOTO FIND WHAT WE WANT, rather than have it LURED in our face. The only thing I have made a REFLEX purchase from is when the McPick two was at McDonalds and offered 2 QPs. I mean it's sick if you watch TV quite a bit, DVR or Not, we see 1000's of Ads THAT FAIL, and I take back what I said, one flavor of Advertising that does work, are Movie Trailer/Commercials. But in essence Advertising IS Overrated!
Wish it were different, but that's the way Internet denizens in 2017 behave. -

For that matter, I don't think most commenters have any idea about the financial market either. A.) you see insanely ridiculous proposals on how Apple should run their business and B.) there's a lot of basic misinterpretation of basic financial statistics. People who don't know the difference between revenue and profit. Stuff like that.
Sorta dilutes the value of sites like AppleInsider, MacRumors, Cnet, Macworld, etc. if basic concepts aren't correctly represented. We're not talking controversial interpretations of some random rumor, just basic financial stats. -
Jeep & Porsche reveal new vehicles equipped for Apple's CarPlay
Plus the cable charges the phone.
I don't have CarPlay in my old Toyota, but I do have a Pioneer after-market car stereo with USB input and I don't have any problems with plugging my phone with a cable.
I might as well take advantage of the power that my car's engine is generating while I'm behind the wheel. The phone isn't going to charge itself. -
Server firmware security incident in 2016 forced Apple to sever ties with vendor Super Mic...
arthurba said:To me it sounds like internal compliance found a problem with firmware updates. i.e.: the 'malicious' firmware update was created by Apple, and successfully installed on a Super Micro device - proving therefore that it's possible to install 'untrusted' firmware. i.e.: the complaint isn't about malicious firmware, it's about super micro devices accepting untrusted firmware.
Frankly, we will probably never know the exact reasons why Apple sacked SuperMicro. The only thing we reliably know is that SuperMicro is no longer a vendor for Apple Inc. Nothing else should be inferred.
As a matter of fact, my guess is that Mr. Leng is violating a confidentiality clause by discussing this with the media. If that is the case, it is likely that SuperMicro will never do business with Apple Inc. again as long as Tim Cook is in charge.
SuperMicro just burnt a bridge. -
Apple Park's campus auditorium named 'Steve Jobs Theater,' opens later in year

For sure, this means plant services (electrical, HVAC) as well as anyone dealing with plumbing, etc.
Corporate IT and corporate security have probably been there a while already, making sure keycard entry is working, installing security cameras, making sure that video from those cameras are being properly displayed on monitors, etc. Corporate IT is also there for things like setting up servers, networking, phone systems, checking cabling, wireless networking, installing conference room equipment, etc.
There are probably representatives of the catering company as well, making sure the punchdown list is completed and facilities are operational before they bring in their staff for orientation and training a couple of weeks before the move-in.
Assuming there are people on site already, that means that there is a skeleton security staff as well as janitorial service.
