How the new Apple Invites app works, and when you want to use it
I used it for a party I had for 50 people both non iPhone and Android contacts I have. It was a mixed bag. Some iPhone users got it and accepted or declined right away and others were confused. I guess on their end even though I had the location in it at first glance it just said Downtown xCity. Weird. I don't know why they just didn't further develop out the Calendar app which I use for events all the time, for a small amount of people. I'd love to see the Calendar app be able to send invites to just a phone number and not have their email address. I also always have to ask for what email they use with Apple so they actually get the notification pushed to their phone. I wish you could just type in a contact and either text or email it and it gives a nice pop up. Just a thought. -
2021 2nd-Generation Siri Remote Review: The star of the show
takeo said:After 10 days with the new Apple TV and remote I’m returning it. I prefer the old Siri remote. Don’t like this new remote at all.The 10 second skip is much more reliable than touching and pressing the edges of the old remote. I did like that. But otherwise I prefer the old remote. And the scrubbing is cool but it barely works anywhere other than the TV app. -
2021 2nd-Generation Siri Remote Review: The star of the show
Appleish said:I have been hitting the mute button several times a day since Friday. Does that make me dumb? Their focus group must have been 100% potential customers who have never owned an TV. Since they were adding buttons anyway, why not just replace the Siri button with the mute?
What a bad UI decision.repressthis said:So is there any reason to use the original method to put the Apple TV to sleep (press and hold center D-Pad)? Is it the same results as using the new power button?

Second night using the remote. The scrubbing with the wheel I can’t figure out the trick. It’s not seem less to me at all. The best result for me is still left to right to scrub. Also while playing with it I somehow got it in picture and picture… I really didn’t mind the old remote at all. Obvious things others pointed out I would’ve liked to see backlighting & Find Me seems like a no brainer. Especially if you have kids? I never had a problem losing the remote. -
