  • Base iPhone 15 models will get 48 megapixel cameras, says Kuo

Mega is M, milli is m.

Yeah, I know what you meant, but standards are standards,

  • Apple is still considering the production of a foldable iPad

The only issue I have is that the foldable devices tend to be almost a generation behind flagship chips or the cameras aren’t the best.
A foldable will be the most expensive iPad ever.   If it's not as fast as the fastest iPad ever, then it will be the laptop of iPads: More features, less performance.

It will be like laptops are (and were mostly until Apple Silicon) to desktops, sacrificing speed for portability.

If i provides something a larger iPad cannot at a reasonable cost penalty, it may be a hit.  Otherwise, it will be another niche product.

  • Apple Vision Pro firmware hints at three distinct battery models

"Apple said at WWDC that the battery is not casually removable from the headset. There is a USB-C port on the battery for charging and directly powering the Apple Vision Pro."

Just my uninformed opinion, but I think Apple missed an opportunity by attaching the battery this way. Better to put two USB-C ports on the headset, so users could just swap battery packs without it powering down. Weight gain would be marginal, and it would be easy to add a latch to prevent accidental detachment. Unless it's possible to attach a backup battery to the USB port on the battery. At this time, there's been no mention of that from Apple.
Go to 1:47:20 The battery sure looks like it simply disconnects by twist and pull from the headset as it appears to merely apply and twist to attach. I don’t know how that isn’t “casually detachable”. I think they mean it won’t fall off if gently pulled randomly. MagSafe it isn’t. Probably should be.

  • Apple has been working on its own ChatGPT AI tool for some time

Seems strange given all of this that Siri remains so poor
Came here to agree.   Siri is pretty damn worthless when it comes to actual information.   I told her to call my brother today.   Did she ask which contact my brother was?  Nope.   Just said, “I don’t know who that is” and then sat there like a dumb@ss.   She knows who my wife is… most of the time.   Every now and then she forgets.   WTF?   If I swear at her, she should at least have better responses than “I don’t know how to respond to that”.   It gets worse if you name a contact like “bob and Jill Smith” and then say call Bob Smith.   She can’t do it.

    Dumb as a rock.

I feel like she has not improved since iPhone 6.

I’d like to point out that Siri isn’t AI.  She’s barely a language model.   The responses are canned.   It’s keyword recognition and nothing more.   I’ve played adventure games in the 90s that seemed more sophisticated.

    Sigh…
