  • Apple website hints macOS Catalina to launch on Oct. 4

This is gonna be a mess of an upgrade, mostly because of the 64-bit thing. The forum is gonna explode once its released and people start installing it. Of course it will be all Apple's fault when developers have had many many years to get their shit all 64-bit. Its not Apple's fault the developer(s) have dragged their feet on this. They all knew it was coming eventually. Its not like macOS being only 64-bit was a secret thing that crept up on them.
Not just that but the strict Gatekeeper requirements as well. Hopefully I’m wrong but I just don’t see Apple giving a certificate to projects like MakeMKV.

  • Complex iOS 13 exploit allows viewing of contacts without unlocking iPhone

The other way of unlocking a phone is by putting it in my pocket. I can't tell you the number of times I feel the 'warmth' of the phone in my pocket only to pull it {the phone} out and find it on the home screen or in some other app.

Whoa, a bit of a surprise that the warrant was approved in view of the recent Federal Court ruling. I'd have to assume the warrants pre-dated that?
Not the first time someone’s constitutionally protected rights were violated in law enforcement’s unbelievable attempts to exercise control over President Trump. I’ve never in my life seen as much lying and lawbreaking in the pursuit of one President.
Sounds more like what this President has done. Including continuing to push the lie that his predecessor was not American until he got what he wanted. Then the week after he was signed into office he admits it was false.
    Please elaborate.

And by the way Trump simply asked was to see his birth certificate. Something the past administration spent millions of dollars and months of fighting over to keep hidden instead of just presenting it. Seems like a simple request.

  • A year with Apple's 5K iMac: Still the best Mac for your money

I am still praying for a new Mac Mini.
Mr Tim & Jony ,please grant our wish for a new Mac Mini with a SSD option.
If anything the Mac Mini should be discontinued. It has never been very Apple like in design. It’s downright ugly. It was brought out because of all the whining about a cheaper headless Mac from the few who don’t like all-in-ones. The Mini has never sold very well because its market is limited to a tiny minority of Mac users. That kind of market is best left to the cheap PCs you can buy at Walmart for $400. I hope Apple kills this abomination once and for all.
And you would be wrong. The MacMini is (was) a fantastic work machine as a small server. Trying to fit three or four iMacs in a rack is a bit silly. My home also has repurposed Mini’s where an iMac would never work.

In my opinion I think the iMac is the most ridiculous (limited) product Apple sells but to each their own...

  • Apple issues fourth developer betas of iOS 11.2, watchOS 4.2, tvOS 11.2

The battery drain on my 6S+ is significantly noticeable. On iOS 10 I’d leave the house in the morning with around 92% battery. That’s with listening to a podcast as I get ready, checking mail, etc. Now I find myself routinely leaving with 80-82%.

The “iPod” features are horrendous. While in the car sometimes the line in won’t work, so I switch to Bluetooth. Sometimes Bluetooth doesn’t work so I have to use the line in. If I’m listening to Apple Music and ask Siri to play a podcast, the podcast will play for 2-3 seconds then Apple Music will come back on. If I’m listening to a podcast and want Apple Music the opposite happens. Very disappointed with iOS 11 so far. Thinking about signing up for the beta program but kind of scared to at this point.
