  • Apple releases $35 bi-directional Lightning to 3.5mm Audio Cable

Is it me or is Apple getting ridiculous with their prices?
At a minimum you have at least one other person that agrees with you.

  • Evidence mounting that Apple is preparing alternative to Google search

I would love this rumor to be true. I have been looking for a more privacy-focussed alternative to Google Search, but the quality of search results on DuckDuckGo doesn’t quite cut it for me.
However, developing a search engine seems like a gigantic project - I agree that there would likely be more indications if Apple had indeed invested serious resources in that field.
    I’m cautiously optimistic.
I’m a big Duck Duck Go proponent. I use to have to fall back to Google for technical/troubleshooting searches but I find myself having to do that less and less. I don’t trust Google at all when it comes to political/current event searches.

While I’ll give Apple a chance if these rumors are true, I can’t imagine them being any different from Google considering the “programming”/censorship in the News app now.

  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise leaving Silicon Valley, moving to Texas

Only problem is the company will pull all the people that made the same bad governmental decisions in CA to TX. Eventually Texas will eventually end up ruined like Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, etc.

Facebook is just like Trump - stands up for no one but themselves and tells bald faced lies trying to convince you they will protect you.

    Jail for Zuckerberg.
And only 4 posts in. Good job! If Trump gets you that much your head is going to explode if Biden manages to get in. His entire life has been nothing but a lie working in government for 50 years.

  • Initial failures of Apple's butterfly keyboard doomed it from the start

I’ll go to my grave thinking this was intended as a stepping stone. To condition us to some kind of dual screen device where the “keyboard” side had an advanced haptic engine in it.

  • Apple's Deirdre O'Brien talks lessons learned from coronavirus response

    @GeorgeBMac SHV Mall?

I had a similar experience with my AirPods.

A 1 week out appointment. Got there and repeated everything we did on the phone with support. Then was told they don't have them in stock and I have to call support to order replacements. Got home, called, they said I would be receiving an email with a link to enter my credit card number as a hold until I sent mine back.

Never received the email. Called a few days later, just before the Thanksgiving break, explained what happened. Entered my card only to be told I couldn't have the replacement AirPods shipped to where I was going to be. They could only be shipped to my house. I hated the whole process.

  • How to back up your Apple Watch

I’ve got last year’s watch... ever-so-often the watch face will change to some random face... I have to get my iPhone out and change it back... now I’m wondering what’s maybe going on...
I’d had various AWs since launched on day 1, have not come across it switching to random faces. You don’t think you have multiple faces defined and accidentally touch-swiped it from one to another?
That’s exactly what’s happening. Happens to me a lot.

What a revolution! The Microsoft Surface Pro has featured hand writing recognition for many years now, with a tightly integration with Windows and a high success rate.

Sometimes, I wonder whether the copiers aren’t working the reverse way.
The Newton had it in ‘93. Surface Pro was out before that?

And, these are the reputable papers, not Fox, or Alex Jones, etc.

Any of those reputable papers bother to cover the Hunter Biden story when the news first broke, as to kind of covering it now? Any of them bother to investigate the election corruption charges (2020 not 2016) that had tons of affidavits and evidence instead of immediately writing it off (pun intended) as fake news? How about the AMA's recent retraction of its previous stance against prescription of Hydroxychloroquine to COVID-19 patients? Hundreds of thousands of people needlessly died from that one.

These "reputable papers" are a joke.

This is why Apple needs to come out with a first-party traditional controller. They could call it a Pro controller that can be used for all iDevices including Apple TV. They really should’ve done this when they pushed gaming for Apple TV.
Yep. As soon as Apple decided to not release their own branded controller I knew the gaming initiative they had for the redesigned AppleTV was dead on arrival.
