Latest macOS Sonoma update is breaking some USB hubs in monitors
pulseimages said:nrg2 said:sflocal said:MacOS Sonoma has been the worst MacOS release for Intel-based machines ever. I'm still on MacOS 14.2 because each point-release update has result in bricking my 2020 iMac and my having to reinstall MacOS, and only with a USB install drive. Headlines like these makes me wonder if Apple has abandoned any real QC checks with Intel machines. For the first time ever, I'm seriously considering downgrading my iMac to macOS Monterey as it was completely stable. It's a disgrace in my book. Apple really dropped the ball here. This from Apple.By the way I'm on a 2019 Mac Pro OS 14.4 and have no problems with any ports. -
Epic wants Apple held in contempt of court for not following through on removing anti-stee...
Kierkegaarden said:So if the court accepted the compliance filing from Apple, how could they be held in contempt of court?
It's an Epic mind stretch.

It's a powered OWC dock. It now can't support all the devices connected it to it for two years complaining of a lack of power.
Did you check to see if there's a firmware update?

'Verifiably untrustworthy' Epic Games iOS app store plans in EU killed by Apple

Apple has the last word on 'trust'?
I can't see that going down well in the EU.
I suppose Epic will accuse Apple of discrimination.
We'll see. It’s not like epic didn’t breach the contract. End of.
epic going on to criticize apple is a smokescreen. Being critical doesn’t award you what you lost due to illegal activity.Epic violated their contract and paid the price. Inciting a mob doesn’t change that. Epic can be mad, but only at themselves. Shameful really.Goodbye epic. Good luck on your own.
If Epic brought the same case to an EU court there is no guarantee it would see the same result.
As for violating a contract clause, that doesn't mean much. The presence of a clause doesn't make it legal. A clause itself can be challenged in court.
Like I said, we'll see.
I suppose Epic will try to challenge the move.
By that logic, no contract would be worth a damn .
