Stop us if you've heard this before: There's a new Apple Silicon killer in town

Dubious report forecasts 42-inch OLED iMacs by 2027
I don't think it's as dubious as it sounds.
Frankly I'm amazed that Apple's been able to get people to pay a premium for a 27" displays.
There are so many verticals today that require larger displays. Content Creators, people that use Conferencing
tools daily.
@Bewood usage case isn't an anomaly. I've seen gamers that want to move to 42" display for more immersive gaming.
I've seen video people that want a larger display for seeing more timeline. Music producers that want to see more tracks
busses and the like.
People typically want as much display as they can comfortably accommodate in space.
I actually think this could happen sooner rather than waiting another 4 years. -
The music industry wants Apple Music & Spotify to block AI music training
I agree with the UMG.
The fundamentals of Copyright are to ensure the evolution of technology by protecting a person or entity's right to profit from their work without undue competition from the appropriation of their IP.
The founders of AI technologies are feverishly looking for a way to monetize their work but this cannot happen at the expense of creators.
The DMCA is going to have to revise it's language to encompass a process in which creators can make a proper claim if they feel like their content has been appropriated
in derivative works. -
Apple's long-rumored 27-inch mini LED display probably isn't happening
I haven't seen Apple this "confused" as a company since just prior to the return of Jobs. As Jobs said "eventually the Designers are replaced by sales and marketing"
When you see a company struggling to make decisions on products they need an infusion of some mojo.
Why is Apple so focused on OLED or Mini-LED? Jobs never spent much time talking about specific tech "ingredients" until he was doing a demo on a product about ready to go on sale. Everyone has access to OLED or Mini-LED.
This next 18 months is going to be pivotal for a lot of tech companies. -
Apple's dominance means it needs stricter controls, says Germany's antitrust regulator
igorsky said:In all of these initiatives in the EU they always throw out that they want to protect competition, but rarely do they talk about the consumer. How about asking us if we want the EU sticking their nose in the way Apple operates? Clearly consumers have spoken with their wallets and they like the way Apple does things.
I've noticed this as well. I rarely see issues concerning consumers take the front seat. Even in this article the issue alluded to is App Tracking Transparency. This is an issue that consumers would generally be keen on given the Facebook/Cambridge Analytica fiasco. Even then Governments were tepid in response. Sure they levied fines but few were jumping up to craft legislation to drastically curb how consumer data is to be kept private.
Any attempt for corporations to redirect the flow of data-mined data is met with nebulous anti-trust claims. I've been using the NextDNS free product for a while and it's crazy how many links I click on are filtered through some analytics engine. I get that companies want to see engagement data for their marketing but todays solution is akin to a husband talking to his wife through the children "hey Bobby tell your mother ...".
