Philips Hue bulbs won't get Matter support when promised
Ive begun to move away from Philips. They've gotten stale yet still think they command premium pricing.
The new Nanoleaf Essential line just announced should trounce Hue in price/performance.
The new Lytmi box is clearly better than the Hue Play at syncing lights to video content.
I'm not bullish on Hue being able to stay ahead of the led market in general. Goveee is eating them up from the low end
the higher end wants 0-10v or DMX support.
There's less of a reason to need to buy into the Hue ecosystem. I might buy one or two more Hue products but that's about it.

Amazon slashing 9,000 more jobs in fresh round of layoffs
lkrupp said:So millennials are finding out how the world really works, that no job is secure, that all this talk about how companies value employees is bullshit. You didn’t want to come back to work at the office but wanted to remain cozy working at home with your pet cat on your lap. It’s the BOTTOM LINE, baby, the bottom line. Get used to it, You’ll be switching jobs every few years for the rest of your lives with no security, no perks, no free lunches and lattes. Think joining a union will make it all better? Hardy har har. The SCOTUS is likely to shitcan your hopes of getting your student loan debt laid on the backs of taxpayers. $400 billion? Think again.
The world will continue to need electricians, plumbers, brick masons, welders, carpenters, big equipment operators for the foreseeable future, not so much programmers, data entry workers, marketing types, even certain engineering fields as AI will see to that. It’ll be awhile until Boston Dynamics comes up with a robot that can wire and plumb a new home.
End rant from a 73 year old curmudgeon.

Apple will launch HomePod with 7-inch screen in 2024, says Kuo
Ideal product to me would be a device that looks barely more than a thicker display. The speakers would be hidden to the point where you wouldn't really know they exist.
People may make the assumption that Homepod's must be dedicated to music but nothing in the name "Home or Pod" suggests that Audio must remain the primary focus. This device will likely have a Facetime camera with Center Stage, function as a Homekit Camera display and be the device that Apple needs to push Shareplay functionality forward.
Is Apple "late to party" here? Yes, very late I absolutely love my Google home hubs. While they haven't made using Google services more appealing (I often dream about having the same form factor but leveraging my Apple services) they have confirmed to me the value of this form factor.
My home, we'd buy at least 3, probably 4-5 and they'll make great Matter Border Routers or network extenders
