Rabbit R1 is the latest AI hand-held that wants to kill the iPhone
if you want the AI to read everything, track you 24-7, learn your habits, know everyone in your life, read all your posts and then it will help you in some nebulous way...I think that's the real danger. we still have some control, especially on the iPhone with safeguarding personal material, but the AI will promise all the things it can do as long as you give it complete access to everything.in return for what exactly? -
Here we go again - Apple rejects Hey Calendar app from App Store
elijahg said:hmurchison said:Reminds of the conundrum the Pre - Jobsian Apple found themselves in with Clones.
They thought the clone vendors would attempt to expand into new markets but instead they
simply sought to cannibalize the company with inferior offerings.
What incentive does Apple have to allow a significant amount of vendors to leverage their distribution
platform at minimal cost and reap the financial benefits outside of Apple's sphere?
A lot of the clones were excellent. That was the problem, they were faster, more feature-rich and cheaper than Apple's Macs.
This is different. Apple's incentive to allow vendors to sell on the App Store is increased sales of iPhones. Besides, Apple distributes Facebook, X and a multitude of apps completely free, so why try and force this small developer to pay especially when they've already got another app through with the "reader" clause? And considering the amount of trash on the App Store - and as the dev points out, Google has heaps of apps that could all be mangled into one. Why did Apple allow Messenger to be separated from Facebook? -

Apple confirms that there is no Apple Silicon 27-inch iMac in the works
I really loved the higher end, almost pro iMacs and the 27 inch has been my main Mac for years. I'm still on Intel, waiting for a good fit to change. Finding a good screen is the problem. And it offered enough power for my uses where as the 24 inch may not...I guess buying the 24 and buying an additional screen like I used to have, always had two monitors. Anyway, sort of a bummer. -
Apple killed Android plans for Apple Watch
I call B.S. If they killed it it's because Android is a leak factory and maintaining the watch on that platform would be a nightmare. Trying to provide equal quality - a nightmare. And why do it? For a tiny number of watch sales? So nightmare crossed with Not Worth It...And it would provide little benefit to the wearer divorced from the Apple system.
