  • FBI director says there may be 'solutions' to end-to-end encryption debate

This proves that end-to-end encryption is still a right way to protect our data.
Protect our data from who and why? Just because? The police have no right to gather evidence in a criminal case other than by traditional methods? Legal precedent has evolved over the past two centuries regarding what information we have the “right” to conceal from police. How about the new technique of matching DNA in genealogical databases to narrow down or discover possible suspects? Should that be banned? Our DNA is about as private as it gets. With a search warrant issued by a judge I see no problem with forcing the decryption of communications. When the telephone was invented legal wiretapping soon followed. The only difference is today that data is encrypted and law enforcement should have the tools to retrieve that data under the supervision of a judge. Damned Facebook knows more about you than the government does.
Agreed...Facebook has, on average, 29,000 data points on each user. (Source: Senate questioning of the that creep, Zuck.)

    You should read 'Zucked'

There's an early exchange with Zuckerberg and a friend says, "these people just give you access to their personal data?"

    Zuck answers, "Yeah. Dumbf***s."

FaceBook and Google are the cigarette companies of the '80s and 90's.

    Best.

That new icon is more stupid garbage design from Apple.

Have the multitude of Safari text edit field bugs been fixed? They never are, so I expect this update will similarly ignore all of those bugs. I swear no one must actually use this stuff for more than one or two lines of text per day.

The highlighting, selection handles, utterly inconsistently functional 3D Touch for selection, etc etc. The newest bug is the spelling correction pop ups for red underlined words: These won’t stay on screen. They spontaneously disappear before you can tap on them.

It’s utterly abysmal at this point and I’m the only one who ever talks about it.
    Be nice.

I can get this 'complain-y' attitude at home from my GF...I come to Ai to get away from it.

    Ugh.

    Best.

I also wish they would sell a rebadged "Dumb" tv from LG that can only be bought online and sell an apple sound-bar with HomePod like sound (+Siri) and AppleTV included, maybe a router and TimeCapsule all in one! :)

    Good! :)

Now if they would only buy a cellphone provider, a cable/satellite provider!!!!

Oh, and Tesla...so they can rewrite the code so it's not based on Android! :)
