Highly questionable video claims to show 'iPhone SE 2' with iPhone X styling
Apple does have a history of 'easing' its styling towards the top of product lines (eventually)... One example is the way MacBookPro's were aluminum with backlit KB's and the MacBooks/iBooks were plastic. Now, look at their laptop line. All aluminum.
I can see the SE2 having a similar design to the X. Perhaps without all the features. Apple does not want to sell cheap, iPhones, iPads or laptops!

Apple's 8 years of iPad: a revolution in iOS computing
What I liked about the first iPad was it forced companies to improve their websites and most importantly those companies that had web-based applications.
I was in real estate and to use the listing service (ARMLS) or the contract/document service, etc., I had to have a Windows PC -Ugh! (I used a good, but somewhat, slow Parallels emulation SW on my iMac.)
To update the e-Key I had to have a landline in 2006! Sheesh!
Then along came the iPad on the heels of the iPhone and not only were the services more Mac friendly, but the iPad/iOS versions were a joy to use.
I think mainly, due to the fact that the apps/sw had to basically be built from scratch for iOS and b/c Apple provided the tools to build them to developers, the applications were closer to the Apple standard of elegance and ease of use. It forced the companies to 'raise their game' when it came to iOS!
That's what I remember most of the early iPad and hardly hear anyone mention it. It continues today, in that many tasks I do are easier on the iPad/iOS than on a Mac.
Great article -as usual, Daniel. -
Apple slugs it out with HBO over new J.J. Abrams TV drama - report
Apple is sending a message to the cable/media dinosaurs...it doesn't matter what Apple bids, as long as they win.
It's an investment. One day more movies will be viewed in iTunes than viewed at movies theaters. Then TV!
Tim already said, a few years back, when he sits down to watch TV, it's like he stepped back in time to the 1990's!
I agree w/ him. I pay a little more for a purchase/rental of iTunes movies and tv shows to "support the future" and the demise of the cable/media dinosaurs!
I don't like Netflix, movie theaters, DVD's, RedBox, HBO, Network television or the cable companies!
I'll be quite happy with a 4K 85" dumb flat-screen TV, a 4K AppleTV, iTunes and one or two HomePods. I want the cable company to be just the 'pipes.' That is until something better comes along. -
Apple 2017 year in review: The realities of AR and VR plus Apple's ARKit
GeorgeBMac said:I know that I'm not a visionary -- more like the opposite of a visionary.
But I just don't see the promise and applicability of this. The gaming market is large but still limited. And, restricting a game to the environment around you sounds, well, restrictive. While I can see some people liking and using it, I don't see it as a big deal.
But, one use that I do see for it is on Apple Maps: where if your car had a dash cam the picture then the map, the road in front of you and directions could all be combined to provide more than a map and an arrow... That could be great!
