  • First look: iPhone 8 series with A11 Bionic chip, wireless charging, more

My biggest gripe about the iPhone 8 was also my gripe about the iPhone 7.  You don't get the better camera without going for the ridiculously large chassis size.  I don't want such a large chassis.  The iPhone X gets me the camera in the smaller chassis.

  • First look: Hands-on with Apple's iPhone X

I have a 6 now.  3 years old and GPS receiver not working anymore.  Already had battery replaced.  All in all it lasted better than the 5 did.

I wish the 8 had the good camera.  I would pay a premium for the good camera.  But I really don't like the plus size device.  And now Apple has made the X which has the fancy camera in the same size device as my 6.   a $400ish premium, but it comes with a ton of other neat stuff.  Hmm.  Probably.  256GB?  Nice.

  • Apple unveils 4.7-inch iPhone 8 & 5.5-inch iPhone 8 Plus, shipping Sept. 22 starting at $6...

I am a tadd disappointed that the smaller 8 still doesn't have the super camera from the iPhone 7-plus.    I am not a fan of the larger size device.

  • No, the iPhone home button is not dead (yet)

I'm amazed that nobody commented on this:   "For the reset of the world, change can be difficult. Just ask Apple"

    RESET OF THE WORLD????    yikes!

  • iPhone 7 and Apple's next Retina Display frontier: Wide Color

I can see the logo on my antique SCEPTRE display.  I know what HDR is but showing an image with only 2 colors in it (that's what it looked to my crappy tools) is not a good way to show it off.  I would be more interested in seeing several copies of the same image side by side, where each was tuned to show a part of the color range on my 'normal' display-range monitor.  Sort of like zooming in to a high resolution image to show us poor slobs what we're missing.

Is it just me or is the author a little bit hostile about non-apple products?  Did we really need to hear about how water soluble the competitor's devices were?  I'm more interested in the concept of high range color displays than whether the competitors are going to catch up to Apple any time soon.  I'm sure the competitors are ahead of Apple in SOME detail.
