Indeed! I was at work the other day, and a co-worker noticed the phone right away, saying "Is that the X? I have the 8 Plus, but I want it!" Definitely more noticeable than my iPhone X was.

The above photos were taken last night. I took photos both with night shift off and on. Here are a couple more taken in the dark to distinguish black and white levels better:

To my eyes, the iPhone X has the truer black, and the white digits and letters are brighter and a bit more detailed on the X compared to the XS Max. And notice the Adele cover: the black in back of her face is more inky black than on the XS Max, again, in my opinion.

Ugh! Pre-ordering a new XS Max 512GB was a nightmare for me. Using the app on my phone, it didn't go live until about 12:06 pacific time, and then it made me put all my payment info in again, which was crazy. The phone I ordered was originally backordered two weeks, but after closing the app and starting over, my payment info was of course already there on file, and the second time trying to buy was successful. I was able to order the phone using Apple Pay, and my ship date is Oct 5th-10th.

What I have found distracting is having notifications pop up while using Apple Maps. Is there a way to disable them while using the app?
