  • Apple counsel attacks Spotify complaints as 'rumors and half-truths'

I opened the AppStore on my iPad and searched for "music". First listed app was Apple Music, the second listed app was Spotify. I fail to see the problem. Apple built and maintains the AppStore and can run it as they see fit. If you do not like the terms of service just don't participate.
That's right. Spotify is being whiny. Its lawyer use to work for Microsoft. So he's obviously whiny. Whiny services are bad services.

You're lucky we don't just remove your App, assholes.

    -Apple.
Because Apple would have a shitload of irate customers.
Nah. Spotify would have a shitload of irate customers. Apple would have grateful customers. Everyone else can go to Android. Apple's customers realize that software developers have to play by the rules. No exceptions. That is why they trust Apple to keep them safe from viruses, malware, identity theft, etc.

  • Sources split on alleged acquisition talks between Apple and Tidal

Tidal is more expensive than Apple Music.

Apple Music's family plan is fantastic. It allows me to use Apple Music on any of my devices simultaneously. It is good for family but also good for single person use.

Tidal has lossless quality. But you can't stream that much data without the music freezing due to limited on-air bandwidth.  Besides, while driving, the quality improvement is destroyed by road and wind noise.  Tidal is only useful for home use.

Apple doesn't need to buy Tidal.  If anything, it would be in Apple's best interest to help a competitor stay alive.  After all, Apple has no monopoly in any market.  Android and Windows keep Apple away from harm.

It doesn't matter if Spotify has more subscribers.  All that matters for Apple is to simply create the best product it can. Then customers will line up for blocks - unlike Apple's jealous competitors.

  • On its 9th birthday, Apple's iPhone finds itself at a crossroads

An iPhone will always look like an iPhone.  Why complain about the form factor when it defines the product?

Perhaps Apple should be simply be happy with $250 BILLION A YEAR in steady revenue from iPhone upgraders.  That isn't bad.  And Apple pays a lot in dividends - better than a lot of companies.

Then Apple can build out its services arm of revenue to make even more.

Then Apple can make several billion more from building cars.

It already makes more than any other tech company.  The only comparable companies are oil companies.

  • Amazon preparing standalone streaming music service to compete with Spotify, Apple Music

How to generate profit is a huge problem at Amazon, given its stratospheric stock valuation with little profit to show.

So Amazon is doing the copycat thing by trying its hand at streaming music.  After all, it has all that server space to use for such things.

The only and big problem is how to make any money in the music business.

Even Samsung found it tough to do.
