  • Following Apple's decline, Foxconn reports first sales dip in 25 years

This is so stupid... stop making it sound like the company is going out of business. A sales decline of an amazing number is still amazing! Apple make a larger profit in 1 quarter than most companies out there. Stop trying to manipulate the stock...
Stop taking a company so seriously like it's life or death. It's just a freaking company. No need to have that much emotional attachment to it. I like what they make and use a lot of the products but don't get bent out of shape if anyone says anything good or bad about them. There are much other things in the world to care about more than a company.
This is what I think about when I hear my co-workers and friends talk about their sports teams.  But people have their passions and there is nothing wrong with it.  We care equally about the world as well as Apple and the companies it partners with.

  • Apple Pay adds support for 17 new US banks and credit unions

Okay, outside the Apple Pay experience, I'm more curious to know if this initiative is really paying off for Apple and its bottom line?  I suppose they are getting their small cut of each transaction but I can't imagine that is adding up to much.  More importantly it was supposed to lead people to buying the iPhone or Apple Watch.  Has that happened?  Maybe the numbers tell a positive story but none of my friends ever talk about it saying how Apple Pay is the best thing since sliced bread.  Don't get me wrong, I have it on my Apple Watch series 1...I use it on occasion and "it just works".  That is awesome.

And in my experience the store staff are starting to know about it.  Perhaps they are not being told by their management on how it works but they see other customers using it and can learn/help that way.  So eventually these young kids who work at the stores will end up championing and guiding more people to use Apple Pay.

So I might sound a bit wishy-washy here...but all I am saying and hoping for is that is making a difference for Apple.  I mean they put a lot into this...I would hope some ROI is being realized.

Lastly, if I could offer one criticism to Apple it would be that I simply don't think they advertise this Apple Pay enough.  I bet so many people don't even know they have it on their iPhones or Apple Watches.

  • Latest 4K drone footage of Apple's 'spaceship' Campus 2 shows interior auditorium work, significant.

This campus is amazing.  I hope when it is finished there will be a full video (maybe documentary) on its construction from day one.  The amount of thinking and planning that must be gone into this is mind-blowing.

I would love to hear about the people intimately involved in making this campus a reality.  And I can't wait to see the inside and seeing people work in their office spaces.

I know Apple is getting pounded on for this and that (especially this latest Macbook Pro/Consumer Reports thing), but honestly hardly anyone takes into account that the whole damn company is moving into a new campus.  That is no excuse, I agree, but still at the end of the day these things just don't happen automatically and without some disruption.

Anyway, the campus is amazing and these videos are pretty awesome too!

  • Kuo: Apple Watch shipments to decline in 2016 despite new models, lower prices

Also, what part about the Apple Watch do you think Steve Jobs would not like?  Why do people always like to speak about what he would or would not have liked?  How would you even know something like that???  And thinking about it from another angle, maybe there are a ton of things he would have liked no?

  • Kuo: Apple Watch shipments to decline in 2016 despite new models, lower prices

I believe this, and I doubt Steve jobs would be too happy with the Apple Watch design. I have the first gen and other than fitness tracking and apple pay it's not a super compelling device, even with watch os 3. It makes more sense to whip out my iPhone to check and respond to notifications and apps rather than fumble around with the tiny screen. I feel like a walking advertisement as an apple lover which I don't like and I don't get that feeling at all using my iPhone. I enjoy using my apple products but the Apple watch as of right now is a mass market failure (as is the entire smartwatch category) and don't really see any need to ever buy another one in the future. I don't care for the fitbit wristbands either but their dashboard app is way better than Apples fitness tracking interface I see tons of people using them because of the simplicity it offers along with not being tied down to an Apple or Android ecosystem. I believe anyone who's serious into fitness and isn't an Apple fanboy will buy a better alternative dedicated to fitness tracking and not a smartwatch to wear all day.
Then why the bloody hell did you buy it?  Or even more importantly why the bloody hell are you still wearing it if you think you are a walking advertisement?  Sell it dude...but you haven't so there must still be something you like about it.

And I'm not sure I understand why the Apple Watch needs to be compared to the iPhone as far as adoption and sales go.  It is an accessory that works with the iPhone or stand alone.   But it is a different category and product.  Sales numbers do not have to be the same.  It would be like comparing Bluetooth Keyboards to Laptop sales...they work together or separately...no one should expect the sales numbers or adoption to be the same.

As far as what the fitness folks buy and wear...well that is their choice.  The Apple Watch is clearly a more complex product than the FitBit and it will take some time to smooth out their interface, etc. but they did a lot with WatchOS 3 and I think they have made a huge gains.  At this point, I think for most things they match FitBit.  And now that Corporate America is getting on board (Aetna)...I think you will see the adoption and sales skyrocket.

In the end, I still use my original Apple Watch and love it.  I use it for it to tell me the time and my "Killer" app of all things is the built-in timer.  I use that like 6-7 times a day.  It is amazing how much it helps me.  And once I got a call why while driving and it was so easy to answer the call right from my phone....very safe too as my eyes never left the road.
