  • The FBI has the tools it needs to break into the iPhone, and shouldn't ask for backdoors

I'm in the minority but I don't see an issue with tech companies working with law enforcement. Guardrails need to be in place and enforced like everything else but if there are situations where unlocking the phones means putting a serial pedophile in jail or preventing more people from being killed then tech companies should be willing partner with law enforcement. By forcing law enforcement to 3rd parties you're only increasing the likelihood of abusing the ability to access locked devices.
Good news. Tech companies do work with law enforcement. The FBI had the contents of the shooter's iCloud account less than 24 hours after the incident.
It's good to remember that law enforcement varies. There's law enforcement in China, there's law enforcement in Russia, there's law enforcement in Syria, and so on. I think we can assume that once the precedent is set, other nations will expect the same treatment. They have "terrorists", too.

  • 'iPhone SE 2' not dead, but won't be the same size as the original says Ming-Chi Kuo

I have an Xs right now, and every time I use my wife's 7, I think about how comfortable it is to hold and use with one hand. I'm torn on these larger sized phones. They seem nice, and the big screen definitely helps on websites, but I just don't enjoy using them as much.

  • Samsung delays launch of Galaxy Fold after review unit screen failures [u]

I don't understand why it's even possible to peel off part of the display. That's just bizarre. Regardless of whether there's a warning, that's just cheap and easily broken.

  • Three iPhones likely coming in Sept. 2019, with one a refresh of the LCD iPhone XR

Maybe it's just me, but I could not be less excited about new iPhones. 5G will only work in cities, and seems to be really bad indoors. The screens are big enough, and the cameras are great. For me, all the technology fun is in the Apple Watch and in smart home stuff.

  • No, Apple, a slightly bent iPad Pro straight out of the box isn't acceptable

Good grief the things that people belly ache about.

Do the people that own this realize what they've got in their possession?  Talk about first world problems.  So, it's got a slight bent in it.  Does it hamper performance?  No, it does not.

I wish my life were so in tune with goodness that stupid crap like this would bother me.

The sky is falling the sky is falling!!

Step back from your perfect world and take a deep breath.  So many other things to consider and concern ourselves with on this planet and you all focusing on crap like this.  Unbelievable.
Better, then, to complain about the complainers! 😏
