  • Google is practically begging Apple to adopt RCS, but still isn't all-in itself

I’m a devout iPhone Apple ecosystem user, but I’d have no problem I’d Apple were to adopt RCS. In fact, I detest having the green bubble issue because so many other people I work with or in my family/friends don’t have iPhones, it destroys group chats. Incredibly frustrating!!!! If Apple were to adopt RCS I don’t see a mass exodus to Android, won’t happen. If anything they’ll be an even split of swap adopters AND I’d bet far more iPhone users would be much happier. I know quite a few users who would be too.
Apple does not jump on board Google’s half done projects. When you have changed messaging protocols 9 times in the last 12 years, the chances of this sticking around is minimal. And without end to end encryption and poor image handling what’s the point. Does it even fix the file size limitations?

iMessage was released in 2011 and has been heavily invested into by Apple. They initially wanted to make it available to other platforms but they got few takers after the reveal, so they reversed course and made it a platform differentiator for Apple. Now Google is trying to copy it and wants Apple to jump in and fix the mess for them while eliminating the advantage Apple has with iMessage being Apple device only. Don’t expect to see Apple sending data so google can comb through it  happening to soon.

  • Zuckerberg thinks Apple is making aggressive moves now to control the metaverse

The only reason we're not hearing about Apple trying to squash stuff is because it happens behind closed doors. Zuck is just talking about it publicly.
Apple is starting to understand they have to take control of any new market if they are going to succeed in it.  While their philosophy has been others don’t have to fail for them to succeed, their competitors tend to plot together to lock apple users out.

For instance, while chrome has become the new Internet Explorer, with web developers and companies aligning themselves to only support chrome and depreciate other web browsers. It means either you relinquish your security and privacy protections or loose access.

This was the situation that forced Apple to create Safari, iWork, and Maps in-house. When they trusted partners to handle the software in key areas, those partners decided to become competitors instead and then handicapped the products Apple helped them develop and grow on Apple’s devices.

  • PC market got hammered in Q3, but Apple saw massive Mac shipment growth

Just imagine what their sales would be like if they cut some of their profit and went all in on growth.
That's not how pricing strategy works, it's much more complicated than you imagine.
I was just on a training call where a jewelry store had a selection of high quality items they were selling at a great deal but they were not selling as expected. The owner decided to cut bait and take another 50% off as he was leaving for vacation. His merchandiser heard him wrong and instead increased the price by 50%. When he returned home he was delighted to see every one of them gone. Days later he realized the price was actually much higher than the original price.

Pricing too low can make things seem cheap.

It's actually possible for Apple to jump ahead to at least 2nd next year and possibly even first if the WinPC market continues to suffer like this YoY. That would be amazing to see.
That would be absolutely awesome, but crazy at the same time.

    Apple will eventually succeed here.
