  • Tim Cook may be launching Apple VR headset earlier than engineers want

If true, it will mean marketing needs to do a great job explaining what this product is and who it’s for in order to set expectations.

Maybe one option would be to lease (not sell) it to registered developers only.
I think the price will pretty much make that clear. The regular non technical Joe is not rushing out to buy a $3000 headset.

  • New EU rules would force Apple to open up iMessage

    This is daft.

Its liking saying to UPS, here is a fedex package, deliver it.
Not really. When you call me from the US, your phone company isn't delivering the call. It's my phone company.

    Same thing happens with SMS.

    Dame thing happens with email.

The DSA is basically looking for interoperability as an end goal.

It’s a service that was created for their devices, not for their competition. Are they forcing Spotify to make their platform accessible to all of the other streaming services since the are the dominant streaming service worldwide wide? Of course not. They think they are actually a European company.

  • Apple Music violates EU antitrust laws, $39 billion fine possible

This is a big can of worms that will crush online buyers and companies. If Apple is required to allow companies to use their platforms to promote products that they don’t profit from without their consent, any company with a product offered online can demand that ability. Like Walmart partnering with brands to promote  their lower prices on Target’s website. That’s just a dumb idea. There will be a lot of handwringing because this opens up their physical stores to a similar scenario.

  • Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra didn't beat the iPhone 13 Pro in camera test

    saarek said:
One of my friends, who happens to be black, was showing off his S23 Ultra to me today. He bought it for one simple reason, the iPhone takes pictures of him that are about on par with most other smartphones whereas the S23 Ultra takes pictures that really capture his skin tone and features.

I have to admit, eye balling pictures he'd taken on his Samsung vs a recent picture I had taken on my iPhone that he did look better on the Samsung Pictures.
The Samsung consistently boosts colors in certain spectrums behaving more like a filter. Being black myself I can tell when black people post pictures of themselves on social media using Samsung technology. They look unnatural to me. My son’s mom switched at one point and the quality of pictures and videos changed. They reminded me of an amateur photographer doing touch ups. I immediately knew when she switched back.

I love how an unannounced product can be "delayed".
