  • Get ready to pay to see 4K video on YouTube

Right now ads on Apple TV is messing up, causing momentary black screen (1-2 sec) during the second ad and when the video starts. No ads and it works fine.
I was having this problem ever since the TvOS 16 update, but someone on a forum told me to turn off the “match frame rate” setting under Settings -> Video / Audio, and that fixed it. I hope this works for you too.

  • iPhone must use USB-C by 2024, says EU law

"We have waited more than ten years for these rules, but we can finally leave the current plethora of chargers in the past."

"This future-proof law allows for the development of innovative charging solutions in the future, and it will benefit everyone - from frustrated consumers to our vulnerable environment," continued the statement.

If you’re waiting more than ten years, you probably shouldn’t be in charge of the rules. Not when it comes to technology. And if you think a law mandating USB-C is “future-proof,” you don’t understand the term.

"These are difficult times for politics, but we have shown that the EU has not run out of ideas or solutions to improve the lives of millions in Europe and inspire other parts of the world to follow suit."

Ok, the war in Ukraine is an enormous tragedy, covid is still raging and inflation is through the roof, but everybody’s life is gonna be much better when iPhone users charge with a cable that has USB-C on BOTH ends.

  • Apple adds iPhone 6 to list of vintage products

I got a 6 and thought it was too big. “Like talking into a dinner plate” was what I said. Traded it for my partner’s 5C. It’s funny to think, now that I have an 11, that I ever thought the 6 was too big.
It took me a while to get used to it too, but now I think of it as the high point of iPhone design. I ended up replacing it when I had a battery issue and the new battery was taking too long to arrive, but I later gave it to a friend who still uses it.

“Breaking the Surface” seems to have worked. If he’s superstitious, he’ll smash one before every game from now on.

  • iPhone 14 & iPhone 14 Pro review roundup: Pro is the way to go

Breaking news: Reuters is reporting that the iPhone 14 Pro will use the A15 chip rather than the A16 Bionic as previously claimed.

(Obviously an error, but weird that someone who thought themselves qualified to report on this would go out of their way to state it.)
That article doesn't say that at all. The closest thing I can find is "The current iPhone model has an A15 processor chip and in the recent Apple launch event, the company said iPhone 14 Pro models will come with the A16 chip," which is the opposite.
They fixed it! It previous said something like, “the current iPhone model has an A15 processor chip, and the iPhone 14 Pro will use the same.”
