  • Touch screen issues hit iPhone 16 Pro and older models

I wonder if it is related to the thinner bezels. Since I got the latest iPad Pro, I’ve had a lot of trouble with typing and other touchscreen issues, but I eventually figured out that I just need to be extremely careful about not touching any part of the screen at the sides while I’m holding it. I never had these problems previously, but the touch rejection isn’t smart enough to compensate for my increased risk of accidentally touching the very edge of the screen with a part of my hand, now that the bezels are so thin. It’s been extremely frustrating—for a while I couldn’t type more than a sentence or two max in the mail app without it exiting the page and saving a new draft, but now that I understand the problem I’m a lot more careful and it’s manageable. I wish there were a setting to desensitize a 1.5mm border all the way around the screen.

  • iPhone 16 Pro Max sees shipping date slip just minutes after preorders start

The models that sell out first aren’t necessarily the most popular. Most likely Apple does their best to predict the relative popularity of different models and prioritizes initial production quantities accordingly, so if some models sell out before others, it probably reflects the difference between their predictions and the reality. There may also be manufacturing and/or component factors that affect the availability of some models more than others.

  • Apple is not expecting an iPhone 16 upgrade super cycle, says analyst

As Apple diversifies its manufacturing beyond China, I would expect Ming-Chi Kuo’s analysis to become less accurate and less bullish, since his existing contacts will have access to a smaller proportion of the overall picture, and he may have more trouble developing new contacts in other countries.

  • Tim Cook hangs out with George Clooney as 'Wolfs' gets standing ovation

It’s customary to clap after a film if you liked it and the people who made it are in the theater with you, probably announced, possibly standing up and taking a bow and/or taking the stage to answer questions. If you’ve never been in that situation, you might be surprised how natural it feels. You’re clapping for the people, not for the benefit of the film itself, of course.

Somebody is going to be dusting off and updating their resume.
Dusting off, perhaps, but an updated resume might not be to their advantage.
