  • Apple hires veteran Lamborghini executive to work on 'Apple Car' team

The Apple Car is Apple's undoing. It is their blindspot because their decisions are US-based and the US is the car-crazy country. Car ownership must be reduced drastically year upon year to around 5% of current levels in order to meet globally agreed climate change targets. Electric mostly shifts the pollution elsewhere and introduces new toxic battery pollutants. Apple should be working on hyper-efficient public transport but mostly in reducing the need to travel at all.

  • Periscope lens coming for iPhone 15 Pro

Then there is the special edition yellow iPhone with periscope that is waterproof and has a red button labelled 'Do not press'. Can you resist?

  • Jony Ive is no longer consulting for Apple

Without Insanely Great design, Apple loses its iconic status and slides into the field of mediocrity. No one with an eye for design would have released the Mac Studio nor eliminated the wedge of the MacBook Air. The wedge is expensive, requiring multiple stacked li-ion cells, but practical because you intuitively know which way round it is when closed and of course the slight slope aids typing efficiency. The M2 MBA typifies Apple's current direction of travel - a few incremental spec upgrades to satisfy focus groups but throwing away priceless design innovations. Ive was Apple's last link to its golden era.

  • M2 MacBook Air matches 13-inch MacBook Pro in first benchmark

As I’ve said many times before, my computers spend a heck of a lot more time waiting for me to do something than the other way around.
Yes, as I have said many times, I can type as fast as I can think.

I added a thermal pad to my M1 MBA and immediately got sustained CineBench results better than the M1 MBP.

I believe the 13" MBP is totally redundant and should be kindly culled.

  • Apple's 15-inch MacBook Air: Rumors, and what to expect

MacBook Air was called Air because it was significantly thinner than laptops of the time.

We don’t need an Air moniker anymore.

Just a MacBook 13/15 and MacBook Pro 14/16

I don’t know why we couldn’t just get the two sizes with the screen size as the main differentiator…
Plus a MacBook Air 12" - underpowered, one-port, non-upgradeable, non-openable, expensive but a gorgeous fete of engineering! It would, of course, be lighter than a standard iPad.
