  • Apple debuts 5.8-inch iPhone XS and 6.5-inch iPhone XS Max with OLED screens

Trying so hard to be excited. It’s just not “magical” anymore. Loads of meh...
This kind of whining is predictable. Every year the smartphone grows more and more mature as a product category. The initial growth spurts are in the rear-view mirror, my friend. If you're deriving your personal happiness on surprises from tools like smartphones, you're in for a lifetime of disappointment. The more important questions are -- does this tool perform the jobs-to-be-done I have for it? Do I like it better than the alternatives?

    "Magical" is in your mind.
This kind of response is so predicatable. Every time someone posts anything other than a positive comment, someone feels the need to respond, chide them, and/or "school" them about why their opinon is misguided. It happens ALL THE TIME on this site. The Apple Insider air is thick with smug and pretention. Get over yourself. your opinion is no more valid or invalid than anyone elses. And yes, I realize the irony and hypocracy of my post, but it hopefully serves to amplify my point.

FWIW, I've been in the "meh" crowd about Apple events for the past few years.

  • Minecraft: Education Edition heading to iPad in September

Yes, let's get kids addicted to Minecraft and computer games as early as possible. It is the business plan of the pusher on the street. Start them early, give them a taste for free, get them hooked, then make them pay for the rest of their lives. How benevolent of Microsoft to make an "educational" version of Minecraft. They must care so deeply about the children. /s

In the modern age of Bluetooth, why do Logitech's products still require users to tie-up one of their USB ports with a dongle? And why does no one bitch about that?

The same people that complain about needing an HDMI dongle for their iPad are perfectly fine using a dongle for a wireless mouse and keyboard.
    Not an issue.

You should check Logitech's web site.

Almost all of their newer products including the vertical mouse mentioned in this article support Bluetooth.

As I read this I heard Gilda's voice in my head...

  • Quanta rumored to be building new 'inexpensive' MacBooks in Dec. quarter

Ok, we do expect a refresh, but what does inexpensive mean in this context?
    From $999-$1299
So, inexpensive compared to other Apple notebooks, not inexpensive compared to notebooks in general. In the Apple ecosystem, a $999-1299 notebook is considered inexpensive. The thing is, most people define what is expensive or inexpensive based on their own financial status, so the term "inexpensive" is a very relative term. Maybe a $999-1299 notebook is considered inexpensive in the Apple ecosystem of products, but for someone making an average desk job salary, I don't think they would consider a $999-1299 notebook inexpensive.

  • Face ID iPad, MacBook, Mac mini, MacBook Pro, 11-inch iPad Pro in Apple's 2018 product lin...

My 2012 i5 Dual Core Mac Mini is getting very long in the tooth. I've been waiting for a significant Mac Mini update since the last refresh was relatively disappointing. I really hope they offer quad-core again using the latest CPUs, 32 GB max memory, and make it user-friendly regarding memory and hard drive upgrades.
