Apple does not make cheap product
This is a product for the future. It's not going to be "cheap", but as technology improves things will get cheaper. People just need to be patient with this. Will this be the next iPhone for success? Probably not but it doesn't need to be.

  • Apple in pole position for F1 racing streaming rights in US

I won't pay a subscription to watch races. Apple should make it available for TV+ subsribers.
Maybe you won't but millions will and already do.

Apple could be a big player in the future for all sporting events in the US. They have the money to get these agreements and the additional money and technology to make them great. As a motorsports fan I would love for them to get F1 and NASCAR in the future. With the exception of Amazon Prime, the NASCAR coverage overall sucks and has way too many commercials.

  • Apple is right to ditch folding iPad plans in favor of the iPhone Fold

A coworker has a folding Android phone (I think it’s a Samsung.) It seems nice for the times you have your phone and need something closer to an iPad mini, but there is a very visible bump/crease in the middle where it folds and the screen did seem to be having some issues along the edges. If you’re watching a movie, the aspect ratio doesn’t really work or help you and you end up with a crease down the middle of the image so it’s really no good for that. The form factor also means you can’t have much of a case or a case with a kickstand so in some ways it’s a bit limiting.

For iPads, many of the same limitations apply, only more so. You’re not trying to fit an iPad in your pocket so they don’t have the size constraints that a smart phone has, and iPads are designed to do more work using the entire screen, so having a crease in the middle is even more of an issue.

Overall, from what I’ve seen I’d take a standard smartphone and skip the folding screen and i can’t really see the use for a folding iPad.
This is exactly the issue with folding phones (even iPads for that matter). There's minimal value and far too many tradeoffs. I doubt Apple would ever release something with a crease down the center of the screen. Android users don't care about stuff like that. They'll buy nearly anything if it sounds cool and then act like their product is better because it was first to the market so it's "cutting edge" and Apple is always years behind!

Plus there's only so many folds it can do before it breaks and I wouldn't be surprised if some even broke prematurely.

  • Tim Cook isn't going to get fired, and Steve Jobs isn't rolling over in his grave

Tim Cook is the best CEO ever for Apple, yes better than Steve Jobs. Apple wouldn't be what it is today without Tim Cook. People think Steve Jobs was GOD and nothing ever went wrong under Steve Jobs. These people either have poor memories (or are stuck in the late 90's-early 2000's), or they weren't even born yet. There were plenty of things that didn't go right, outright failures and things that didn't progress very far at all.

    -Ping
-.Mac (had to be rebranded to mobileMe)
-mobileMe (had to be rebranded to iCloud)
-iPhone 4 AntennaGate (you're holding it wrong!)
-G4 Macs (barely any advances YoY with sometimes the new model slower than the older model)
-G5 Macs (barely any advances YoY and broken promises)
-Announcing products and shipping them months afterwards. (this was classic during the G3/G4 days)

These are just some examples of shit that didn't go right under Steve Jobs. Very few called for him to be fired when these happened.

I ask this question every single time someone says Tim should be fired...who would be a better CEO for Apple than Tim Cook and NOBODY has ever answered that question, not one single time yet they seem to have all of the solutions for Apple. Just fire Tim Cook!

And who gives a shit what Steve Jobs thinks of Apple today. He's not here anymore and it's not his company. You don't know what Steve would think and it doesn't matter anyways. It's an absolutely pointless mindset to have.
