One theme for iOS functionality that has always impressed me is how the devices really just disappear and transform when a new app is opened. It becomes whatever the app is. This concept, in the way that I see it, further erases the phone itself and just makes it a window for the functions. Several apps are already incorporating camera views and overlaying functionality. The idea here is that the functionality can go right into the OS itself. This mock-ups are really interesting.

I would have expected "5.4 times the profits" or something. Guess I'm sensitive due to the "Apple captured 110% of all smartphone profits" articles

5.4, while it does have the characteristic of being accurate, fails to capture the drama of 540%. There's a certain amount of glee involved in choosing that larger number. I read DED's articles as much for that triumphant tinge as for the information.

Timeline for this whole series:
3-4 seconds presents problem/unfounded myth via Twitter for some reason
5-6 seconds omniscient calm guy states that the iPad is the solution/bust myth
5 seconds of humor

Those last 5 seconds are invariably grating ("Word? Word. Word. Yeah, Word. Wweeeeerrrrrd.") and I wish they all ended at 9-10 seconds. But never mind me, just bring on the new iPads!

No mention of Time Machine rollback here. Deleting original files or encrypting them isn't a problem if you can just restore, right? (So IF you've set it up in the first place and there's really no reason to NOT do that.)

I agree. If they could expand on this, maybe lengthen the article or broaden the scope, that would help me widen my understanding.
