  • New Apple Watch Series 10 rumors disagree over screen redesign

    The lack of rumours for the Apple Watch is worrying. Series 9 was a woeful release , as was the 8. Barely any improvement over the S7. Focus has been on ultra , and even then U2 barely any different to U1. Watch team taking a break lol. 

    New Pixel Watch seems to be bringing better fitness tools (Apple should copy & Google’s pulse detection & alerting SOS is a good idea). How about better scratch resistance as the base models are really poor compared to the ones with sapphire screens.

    Honestly not sure what else would be useful/wanted ? A stress level indicator ? 
    More colours ? Longer lasting battery (obviously).

  • iPhone 16 & iPhone 16 Pro -- What Apple's prototypes say is coming

    Best to mention what it’s not bringing to the table, but arguably should have these 5 things in the 16 pro series ….

    1. a memory increase over the 15 Pro. 8Gb still. Enough to last 5 years of expanding AI local models and OS updates.  Not so sure. 17 series rumoured to be 12Gb, and new pixel 9 Pro is 16Gb. Even the budget model 9 series is 12Gb. 

    2.  At least one of the cameras will remain a 12MP one. Probably the selfie one. Why? One for the 17 Pro apparently. New Pixel 9 Pro has ~50MP for all cameras. 

    3. A diet. Yep , the pro phones are true porkers these days. Just go pick up an iPhone 6/7 series phone and feel that difference. Ah wait, next years 17 air / slim might give you that. 

    4. AI that matches the competition at launch. (Some don’t care, but since you are paying top whack your expectations should be high compared to the competition). 

    5. Notch replacement. You might not notice it much but I don’t see a huge cut out on Pixel or Galaxy phones , and they can still do Face ID equivalent plus they have ultrasonic finger touch as well (now fine & fast)

    other notable mentions … - promotion screens at the lower end like Android has had for probably 3yrs plus now. 
    - storage options that don’t nickel and dime you to get off the base model. 

    It will be the best iPhone yet, but honestly .. that’s not saying as much as it used to when you look at the competition. If only it wasn’t such a pain to switch to & learn android.

    the pro line up has never been great colour wise. Apple just doesn’t get it like say Nokia used to (that yellow 920 was awesome). My wife only buys the pinky rose coloured phones , which Apple don’t do as pro phones. Missed opportunity. Look at Google’s latest pink colour .. she thinks it’s beautiful!

    Does the Samsung watch come with any coating on the screen like gorilla glass ?
    The Apple Watch non sapphire models have protection but it’s total garbage. Every aluminium watch I’ve had from Apple ends up with way too many scratches on the screen & quickly. Yet non of my mechanical watches have scratches. 

    Not sure I’d buy another due to this. Maybe save a bit more and get the sapphire stainless steel or Ultra versions.

    I’ve had a few Apple watches over the years (probably too many) and the main issue with all of them has been the poor quality of scratch resistance on the screens. (Non sapphire model). 
    I doubt the X base model will have Saphire so will need to decide whether paying what is probably going to be £600 plus for the sapphire model is worth it. My current series 7 looks like it was beat up by Mike Tyson.
