Hands on: All the changes in iOS 18.1 beta 2 & iOS 18 beta 6
Why on Earth does Apple release two different dev betas? Why not just release 18.1 and stop 18? I mean that's whats going to happen anyway when they officially release it. In fact they should just release 18.1 as the official when it is ready. Or just release it when all the promised functionality is ready for prime-time. I'm happy to wait... I'm not a dev, so I don't really understand the operational procedures of all this. This is just me as a general user asking into the ether. If you have an answer please enlighten me! -
Paid Apple Intelligence features won't come until at least 2027
I really hope Apple doesn't do any subscription based model for their AI features. They make enough $ charging a premium for their devices. Don't screw their user-base over like MS and become even more greedy. If they continue to make good products/services they'll make their money. They don't need to force users to a subscription service for a built in OS feature, IMO. We'll see though. I am thinking of upgrading to the iPhone 16 when it arrives (from my 12) to have the new AI features. I'd be PISSED if they were to force me to pay even more $ to use certain things that should be standard.

Only Apple could have made Apple Vision Pro, say firm's design chiefs

It's understandable but still ridiculous.
Anybody that thinks only 'they' could do something really needs to rethink things.
I think they might have meant that only they could have done it "right", out of the gate. Samsung and the like will most surely copy it and release a sub-par product just like all the other tech manufacturers. Apple is never the first, but almost always the best, in the end. And of course we all pay for it as well...That said, I have no intention of buying one, but it's cool to see what the future might hold in this realm. I'm thinking a pair of actual glasses with this tech at some point. Obviously the hardware will need to be shrunk down incredibly small to fit in a pair of normal looking spectacles.
