HomePod, in time, will be come a well-rounded SmartSpeaker. For the moment, it is a very fine speaker and a sales tool for AppleMusic. As many may imagine, Apple is holding back a bunch of features for future versions. This is a proof of concept (Apple's version) of the audiophile's SmartSpeaker.

Apple's actions are the opposite of planned obsolescence (French lawsuit).

Apple is extending the usefulness of battery depleted iPhone with their power management techniques.

I think Apple is safe in a reasonable court. Are French courts considered "reasonable?"

I understand the reasoning behind the system slowdown for mostly worn out batteries... but thank you anyway for this "fix." My wife's iPhone 5s is only 2.5 years old and has major lag issues. Although this is outside of the program, I think I'll bring her phone in anyway for a Genius-look-see.

The software update will be a nice addition even for my iPhone 6 that only rarely has what appears to be battery issues (same 2.5 years old).

Unfortunately, I'd call that color Zune Brown. Not a fan.

But, otherwise, I don't give a sh*t whether you like Trump. Stories like this are good PR for Apple and good for US workers to hear. I don't believe Apple should back away one bit from non-US supplies. Just keep adding investment into the US.

Perhaps there will be a tax/investment bill that will change the situation of keeping some of Apple's billions from being invested in the US. There is a proposal to, I believe, remove the 35% corporate tax on "foreign" earnings (now deferred). I'll have to look into the proposal.
