  • iPhone 15 Pro rumored to get Thunderbolt connectivity

I hope this isn’t true. Just with iPads, we have to replace the USB-C ports 2-3x more often than on iPads with the lightning port. Lightning is so much more durable, which is especially important in phones
I’ve found Lightning cables to be quite fragile.
I too have found the cables themselves quite fragile, but the connecter and port itself reliable. I have a 2016 MacBook Pro with loose TB 3 ports all the way around, and the slightest tension on an attached TB cable causes then to pop out. Not a robust design, IMO.

I like the way Lightning cables snap into place. USB-C is inferior.
Agreed. I like the simplicity of one connector for all, but I have a few devices with rather loose USB C sockets, and I've not owned a single lightning port device with a loose connection.
  • Compared: M1 Max 16-inch MacBook Pro versus Mac Pro

The M1 Max MacBook Pro is a lot of power in a tiny package compared to the Intel Mac Pro. I'm chomping at the bit for the M1 Max Mac mini as that will be enough horsepower for me vs. cost. I expect the Apple Silicon Mac Pros to be absolute beasts in terms of performance, but with equally and warranted price tags.

PLEASE bring back the Mac Chime and the glowey  !
Interestingly enough, I booted my 2019 15" MBP from a beta of Big Sur and noticed the sound control panel has an option to "play sound on startup". Now, running my machine on Mojave, it chimes on boot, just like the good old days!
  • Going hands on with Nomad's Base Station Pro -- The first real free-placement Qi charger

My only peeve with my Nomad basestation Apple Watch edition is pushing my phone around to find the sweet spot when I'm also charging my Watch and AirPods. Looks like this will solve that issue for me. This design is perfect on my bedside table. I have an Anker wireless stand to prop my phone up on my work desk.

Looking forward to this new iteration of basestation if it will also include Apple Watch charging.
