Apple designer Jony Ive defends ditching home button, other tech in interview about iPhone...
randominternetperson said:jumpcutter said:What did you think Jony was going to say. He is going to support Apple's position. People should quit complaining about what Apple does and vote with their wallet. Do not buy their products. It's too expensive and they constantly changing things for their pocketbooks. Why a lightning port for the iPhone when everyone is going USB-C... Even the fabulous MacBook Pro has USB-C but no lightning ports. They raise the prices and screw you by making you buy adapters for their products. It all about money and it's downright greedy. Shove it Jony... your attitude is sickening. -
Reviews lean positive on Pixel Buds, Google's answer to Apple's AirPods
CheeseFreeze said:I think where the pixel buds (really? That name!) shine is access to Google’s voice assistant. Yes - it’s software - but after comparing it with Siri, Apple has a long way to go to get to Google’s level.
Not being able to play back music in Spotify (because Apple blocks Spotify - something they should be sued for) and not being able to get a decent, spoken result for a search query are just a few examples why Siri performs so badly, which then obviously extends to their wireless buds and the soon to be released HomePod speakers.
And we are what, in the middle of November? Wow, Apple is soooo far behind. Let the lawsuits begin... -
Reviews lean positive on Pixel Buds, Google's answer to Apple's AirPods

Agreed, but I’m still hesitant to purchase them considering how much I sweat when working out. I’ve burned through three LG Tones, my Jlab Epic 1 didn’t last three months, and it’s replacment, Jlab Epic 2 has issues immediately outside of the one year warranty. That’s $250 in wireless headsets over a couple years. I’m hoping version two of the AirPods ships with the Qi-compliant charging case in the near future. I've been wearing my AirPods while washing my vehicles where they get exposed to plenty of sweat and water spray. No problems.
My brother wears his while he's mowing his yard on hot, Summer days in 90°F+ temperatures and they're doing just fine after being drenched in sweat. He impulsively bought his AirPods after seeing mine and intended to use them in addition to his expensive Bose wireless headphones that he loved. It didn't take him long after using the AirPods to chunk his Bose headphones in the bottom of the closet. They'll probably end up in his next garage sale.
(Sorry about the malformed quote - I hate this board's quote system. I've never been able to figure it out.)
