  • One year with the Apple Watch Series 3

I've been wearing my Apple Watch Series 0 every day since I bought it. Still works great for what I need it to do: time, weather, messages, calendar reminders, controlling music playback from my iPhone to HomePod and Bluetooth speakers, tactile turn prompts with Maps, nightstand clock, fitness tracking, and timers. It's super comfortable and the stainless finish and sapphire glass look as good as new. My only complaint is lack of sleep tracking, which is possible but would throw off my normal usage patterns. Will I replace it with the new Apple Watch 4 if one actually comes out soon? Probably, but not because the AW0 is not serving me well. I'm ready to explore what else I could be doing with my Apple Watch along with a new iPhone. The added water resistance and speed bump will be nice too. I only wish the stainless steel case option did not incur such a steep upgrade cost. What to do with the still very functional AW0?
I agree and am sad that the Series 0 is being deprecated.  Even the battery life on my Series 0 is still a full day - and I've worn mine every day since release.

But, if Series 4 moves to a larger screen (in the same form factor), I'll count it as a personal win to have held out this long.

  • Of course Apple's AirPods wireless charging case will work with any Qi charger

My guess is AirPower is to Qi as the W1 is to Bluetooth. AirPower mats will work with Q1 compatible devices (like AirPods work with bluetooth) but AirPower mats will somehow work better with Apple devices than non-Apple devices. But I'm not quite sure how much room for differentiation there is in wireless charging (unlike Bluetooth which had multiple dimensions for improvement: range, battery life, ease of pairing, dropouts, etc.).

  • All three 2018 iPhones to support wireless charging, AirPower mat to cost $150, rumors say...

At $150, the next generation of AirPods better ship exclusively with the inductive charging case or people will be looking at $150 + a case to get the triple-play benefit. $150 is going to be a tough sell all around but $150+ to get no-plugs for AirPods, phone and watch is going to be even more difficult.

  • Review: Lenovo's Smart Display can sell iPhone owners on Google Assistant

Persuasive argument about why a screen expands the benefit of a smart speaker. I still wish Apple let the screen on the top of HomePod show some simple things such as the amount of time left on a timer or the source of music playing rather than just animating the Siri waveform. I understand why Apple doesn't want a cluttered or complicated screen but they installed a real (if small: 272x340) screen that HomePod barely uses.

  • The best photo print services to use now that Apple's Photo Print Products is ending

CGX (subsidiary of RR Donnelly, the professional printers) apparently printed the Apple photo books. http://thedeadpixelssociety.com/apple-closing-photo-print-products-service-by-sept-30/
